[Rito's Room – Night]

CLICK.

The laptop screen flickered, casting a faint bluish glow that barely lit up the dark room. The rhythmic sound of keys — tap tap tap — filled the silence, mixing with the soft hum of the cooling fan. Outside, the moon hung lazily in the sky, like some tired watchman, but my eyes stayed glued to the code in front of me.

Lines and lines of code flowed like a digital river across the screen. But this wasn't just any programming. Oh no, this was something special. This was the heart of something that, years ago, barely existed as an idea and now had become a valuable, coveted asset across the world.

Bitcoin.

I leaned back in my chair, stretching my fingers. Crack! The sound echoed in the room, matching my steady breathing. The irony of it all? Even though I was The Presence — omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent — I still felt that flicker of human excitement every time I dived into this project. A small earthly pleasure amid the cosmic chaos.

"Fascinating…" I muttered, my eyes scanning each line of code like veins in a living creature.

Funny thing? For me, this wasn't just about economics or technology. It was about freedom. About creating something that could exist outside the rules set by governments, gods, or any other cosmic force. A decentralized network — untamed, unstoppable.

But, of course, I knew better. In this world, that alone wouldn't be enough. Not even close. With so much power floating around, so many entities watching, it was only a matter of time before someone tried to break the rules. Hackers? Child's play. I dealt with beings who could wipe out galaxies with a sigh.

That's why I couldn't leave Bitcoin to chance.

I raised my hand and, with a smooth gesture — swoosh — a golden magic circle appeared over the screen. Ancient symbols, runes echoing across dimensions, began to rotate slowly, weaving themselves into the code.

"There. Now no one touches you," I whispered, as the protective magic fused into the system, invisible to mortal eyes, but as solid as the fundamental laws of the universe.

Every transaction, every mined block, was now guarded by a barrier no demon, no matter how bold, could cross. The code itself? Immutable. Any attempt to tamper with it would be an invitation to burn in a curse so fierce even Hades would sweat.

Tap tap tap.

A few more lines, some fine-tuning. I added a couple of "gifts" for persistent invaders — digital traps that would strike back so hard they'd think twice before ever touching a keyboard again.

Satisfied, I closed the laptop with a soft clap.

But I wasn't done yet.

I lifted my hands again and — vroom — a subtle magical network spread across Bitcoin's global infrastructure. Invisible, yet ever-present. A digital sentinel, directly linked to my consciousness. Any sign of manipulation or abuse, and I'd know. Like a heartbeat outside my body, always in sync with me.

"Perfect…" I breathed, feeling that strange satisfaction when a plan comes together.

I sat at the edge of the bed, scratching my neck. The funny part? I hadn't told anyone. Not even Lala. And she pestered me every single day, curious about my "midnight secrets," as she called them.

But I had my reasons. Lala and technology? Giving her access was like handing matches to a pyromaniac. I wouldn't put it past her to accidentally create a Bitcoin version that paid people in talking rice balls or something wild like that.

CLACK!

The door creaked open. I didn't even have to look.

"Ritooo!" Lala bounced into the room, her pink hair glowing under the soft light of the monitor. "What are you up to this time, huh?"

"Nothing special," I answered casually, smiling sideways.

She folded her arms, tilting her head, eyes narrowing suspiciously.

"You always say that… but you're always hiding something!"

"It's just work this time."

"Secret work?" She leaned in, eyes sparkling with curiosity. "No secrets between us, remember? We're engaged!"

I sighed, feeling that warm flutter in my chest that only she could cause.

"I'll tell you… but only when I'm sure you won't, I don't know, add a rocket launcher to the process."

"Rocket launcher?" She blinked, thinking it over. "Hmmm… actually, not a bad idea."

"See? That's exactly why." I chuckled, ruffling her hair as she pouted but didn't stop me.

Lala plopped down beside me, resting her head on my shoulder.

"So… what is it?"

I stayed quiet for a moment, feeling the weight of that question. It wasn't just about Bitcoin. It was about what it meant to me. Freedom, security — a way to make the world different.

"It's something that could change a lot of things," I said finally. "A little seed. But if it grows right, it could become a giant tree."

She looked up at me, curious.

"And you planted that seed?"

"I did. And I'm taking good care of it."

Lala smiled, soft but full of trust.

"Then I'll wait for you to show me."

Right then, I knew she'd understand. Maybe not the code or the magic behind it, but what it meant.

Not everything needs explaining. Some things… you just feel.

Outside, the wind carried the promise of a future where maybe — just maybe — one guy could change the game.

Even if no one knew it yet.

With one last glance at the laptop, Rito slowly closed the lid, like sealing a precious secret in a chest. The soft glow of the screen flickered before fading completely. Outside, the night stretched on, calm and serene, with a starry sky that looked like a cosmic tapestry stitched by hand.

He leaned back in his chair, letting out a slow sigh. The feeling was strange — a blend of pride and relief. He had just reinforced Bitcoin's source code with layers upon layers of arcane spells, digital runes, and transcendental encryption that even the boldest hacker in the universe wouldn't dare try to crack. This… this was real security.

And yet, deep down, there was that itch. That urge to share. To tell someone. Because, really, it's not every day you protect the global economy with magic.

He glanced sideways, spotting Lala sprawled across the couch in the living room, a goofy smile on her face, a measuring tape tangled around her finger — probably from another half-finished invention. Her pink hair was splayed out like cotton candy against the pillow.

"Better not tell her just yet…" he muttered under his breath, chuckling softly.

The problem with Lala wasn't that she wasn't smart — far from it. She was a genius, no doubt about that. But her creativity? It was like a force of nature that could flip an entire financial system upside down in five minutes just for fun.

Standing up slowly, he grabbed a blanket and gently draped it over her without waking her. Her face softened even more in her sleep, and something warm stirred inside him. There was a tenderness there, something quietly growing between them without him even realizing.

But his work wasn't done.

He padded barefoot out to the balcony, the cold floor grounding him, and gazed out over Sainan. The city lights shimmered like fireflies, the distant hum of traffic mingling with the chirping of a lone cricket. A strange peace, for someone who knew what kind of power he held in his hands.

Rito raised his hand and traced a symbol in the air — a perfect circle with interwoven lines, a fusion of ancient runes and modern equations. The magic responded, pulsing softly at his fingertips.

He needed to make sure the system wasn't just secure, but fair. Free from manipulation. Beyond the reach of governments or greedy corporations. A space where everyone — human or otherwise — had an equal shot.

"Let's see how this holds up against the next market test…" he murmured, activating a spell of foresight.

Images flashed in his mind — graphs, trends, possibilities. Future paths unfolding like cards in a cosmic deck. And in all of them, Bitcoin stood strong, growing, defying the old systems.

Rito smiled. This wasn't just about money. It was about freedom. About giving people a way out from under the thumb of control.

Suddenly, he felt a presence behind him.

"Rito…?" Lala's sleepy voice drifted to him, soft as the breeze.

He froze for a second. Crap. Did she see anything?

Turning slowly, he found Lala rubbing her eyes, her hair a mess, still wrapped in the blanket.

"What are you doing out here?" she asked, yawning.

Rito smiled, trying to sound casual.

"Just… getting some fresh air. Needed to clear my head after staring at the screen too long."

Lala stepped closer, blinking slowly, leaning against the railing beside him.

"You always think too much," she said, resting her head on his shoulder. "You should relax more."

He stayed quiet for a moment, feeling the warmth of her there, so close. The truth was, deep down, that's why he was doing all of this. Not just for the sake of some abstract idea of freedom or security, but to make sure the world they lived in kept spinning. So Lala, Asia, Haruna, Mikan — all of them — could live their lives without worrying about broken systems.

"Rito…" Lala whispered, lifting her head and looking him straight in the eyes. "Are you hiding something from me?"

His heart skipped a beat, but he covered it up with a crooked smile.

"Maybe. But I promise it's for a good reason."

She studied him for a moment, as if trying to piece together the puzzle that was Yuuki Rito. But in the end, she smiled — simple, sweet.

"Okay… I trust you."

That hit him harder than he expected. That trust… it was worth more than any code, spell, or digital fortune.

"One day, I'll tell you everything. Just not until I know for sure you won't invent a Bitcoin laser printer or something."

Lala laughed, giving his shoulder a playful nudge.

"You know me too well…"

Silence settled over them again, comfortable this time. The two of them stared up at the sky. And for a moment, it felt like the universe itself had paused to listen to their simple conversation.

Rito knew the battles were far from over — between Lala's suitors, galactic challenges, and magical secrets. But right here, right now, there was peace in knowing he could protect the world he loved.

And that was enough.
