Chapter 38 - The Anxious Streaming Platform

At Tiger Shark Platform, Wang Ling, the head of the marketing department, was extremely anxious.

She had sent Lin Xiao a private message yesterday and sent another as soon as he went live today.

But Lin Xiao hadn't checked his inbox at all.

This made her incredibly anxious.

A wild streamer who had reached over a million viewers in just two days couldn't be reached by the platform itself!

If news of this got out, it would probably make competitors laugh their heads off.

Being laughed at wasn't the issue; what worried her most was the possibility of Lin Xiao being snatched away by other platforms.

She had clearly seen Lin Xiao's potential. With his eye for antiques, even without platform promotions, it was only a matter of time before he became hugely popular.

She decided to raise a suggestion at the next meeting that all new platform accounts must provide contact information during registration.

Complaints aside, the urgent task now was to quickly get in touch with Lin Xiao.

"Right!" Wang Ling's eyes lit up as she suddenly thought of an idea.

If she couldn't find Lin Xiao, she would contact someone he knew!

She searched for Baibao Pavilion online and soon found Xu Rushan's contact information.

Immediately, she dialed his number.

Xu Rushan was puzzled when he received the call.

A streaming platform?

Why are they looking for me?

Realizing they were actually looking for Lin Xiao, he understood right away.

However, he didn't give Wang Ling Lin Xiao's number directly, saying, "Let me speak to Mr. Lin first."

After hanging up, he immediately called Lin Xiao.

"Boss Xu, what's the matter?"

Receiving a call from Xu Rushan at eight in the evening was indeed surprising for Lin Xiao.

Xu Rushan quickly explained the situation, and Lin Xiao replied, "You can give me her number."

Hanging up, Lin Xiao muttered, "The platform contacted me, probably about signing a contract?"

These past two days, he had been so immersed in antique hunting that he almost forgot he was still an independent streamer.

It seemed Tiger Shark Platform valued him highly; otherwise, they wouldn't have resorted to finding his contact information through others.

He called Wang Ling's number, and she answered immediately, evidently having been waiting for his call.

"Hello, this is Lin Xiao."

"Mr. Lin, hello! I'm Wang Ling, head of the marketing department at Tiger Shark Platform."

Finally receiving Lin Xiao's call, Wang Ling nearly wept with joy.

"Mr. Lin, we would like to sign you to an exclusive customized contract!"

"Customized?"

Lin Xiao was momentarily stunned. When he started streaming, he had specifically researched this.

The highest-tier contracts across all major streaming platforms were customized contracts.

As the name suggested, this type of contract was tailored specifically for the streamer.

Any terms could be negotiated.

"Yes, a customized contract!" Wang Ling continued, "Mr. Lin, could you please add me on WeChat? I'll send you the contract."

"Alright."

After adding each other, Wang Ling quickly sent over the contract.

Lin Xiao scanned it rapidly. There were a few key points:

First, guaranteed annual income: 10 million yuan!

Second, gift revenue split: 90% to Lin Xiao.

Third, extensive platform promotion resources.

However, given Lin Xiao's current popularity, promotional resources made little difference to him.

Fourth, no penalty for breach of contract!

This was also decided after Tiger Shark's management meeting.

They concluded that using a high penalty clause to tie down Lin Xiao was unwise.

Considering Lin Xiao's professionalism and rapid rise to fame these past two days, he would surely succeed wherever he went.

If a massive penalty was set, the most likely outcome was Lin Xiao choosing not to sign.

Thus, it wasn't necessary.

Lin Xiao quickly reviewed the contract and said, "I don't need the guaranteed income; the rest is fine."

Guaranteed income corresponded to mandatory streaming hours—at least six hours daily.

Lin Xiao didn't want such constraints.

Besides, what might be a dream contract for other streamers wasn't particularly tempting for him.

He saw himself clearly: he and Tiger Shark were partners.

The type of contract didn't matter much to him.

He simply needed a streaming platform. If Tiger Shark didn't work out, he'd go elsewhere.

They could cooperate if possible; if not, it was fine.

After discussing for a while and understanding his stance, Wang Ling said, "Alright, understood. I'll adjust the contract and send it back to you."

Half an hour later, Lin Xiao received the revised contract and found no issues.

He printed a copy downstairs, signed it, and then sent it via courier.
