Chapter 9 - "Broken"
They both hop off the building and go into the nearby forest.
Garret: "so what did you want to talk about"
Garret is on edge ready for a fight as they walk through the forest
Atom: "it was something you said and the way you said it, you didn't want your bounty, except Daniel bounty's are like statues symbols having one shows to others that you should be feared and in some clans and gangs it's used as an initiation of the group"
Garret: "well, I don't want it I mean I didn't even mean to destroy that place"
Atom: "if you'd like I can try to help you get rid of it, as long as you help me pay the bounty off"
Garret continues to be suspicious, he thinks it too nice, and doesn't understand why he's helping a stranger for no real reason.
Garret: "Atom"
Atom: "ya what is it"
Garret sweeps my Legs under me and grabs my shirt
Garret: "sorry but I don't trust you fully yet, I'll bring you to a hospital"
Garret charges his arm ready to knock him out without hurting him too much.
Atom: "WAIT GARRET I CAN HELP YOU"
I quickly hit his hand off my shirt and fall picking myself up with my hands and jump back
Atom: "there's no reason to do this"
Garret lifts his hand facing me, and gets ready for an unconventional way of fighting.
Garret: "sorry but I can't trust you yet give it time"
He flicks at Atom, the air goes from a light wind to a shock wave of speed flying towards me, I try standing my ground but I get pushed back and almost fall down.
I gain my balance again and start storing my mama in my hair
Atom: "fine if you want to do this we can, I lead you here on purpose this is my land, I won't accuse you of destroying property here all I ask is you don't destroy my house on the far side of this property"
Garret launches at me, I can't even react by the time he reaches me, I use a blast of mana instinctively to move out the way, his fist nearly missing my face, I fall to the ground but looking behind me Garret instead punched a tee, cutting it in half and causing it to fall. I can't even see him before more air pressure comes my way and I'm forced to back away.
I cover my eyes so wind doesn't get in them, after the wind stops I look up to see Garret for a second before I get punched in the stomach, in the exact spot I was stabbed, earlier. The power sends me through 2 trees snapping them in half and I finally stop after I hit the third, before I can catch a breath the tree starts falling on me.
I catch it but I'm weak because of this fight and I barely move it out the way when it falls I slowly get up looking at Garret
Garret: "this can end atom just let me walk on this alright"
Atom: "you said you didn't want it, it doesn't matter if you don't trust me if I'm able to help you i will"
Garret looks down
Garret: "alright Atom, we will finish this then"
I launch at Garret before he can react. I wrap my legs around his neck and slam him on the ground, before Garret can catch his breath I kick him in the stomach. Garret grabs my legs and throws me away, when he gets up and jumps at him and pushes my thumbs in his eyes.
Atom: "I learnt, to win here is by playing dirty"
Garret swipes my hands away and punches my chest, multiple of my ribs break as I fly away hitting the ground a few times before skidding to a stop. Garret walks towards me and when I look at him nothing I've done worked, his eyes don't even have a bit of red in them,
I get up and start running, jumping in the air. Garret puts his hands in the ground and throws a large chunk of the earth at me. I turn around and channel mana in my arms, before it reaches me I send a beam of mama at the boulder. The boulder breaks apart and the pieces fly by me as I still shoot the beam hoping it does something to Garret.
My mana gets disrupted, the boulder and my beam of mana blocked Garret who acts like the beam is nothing as he punches my jaw. The hit pushes me away but Garret pulls my legs down, and punches my stomach. The force nearly knocks me out as I get sent flying to the ground slamming into it large parts of the earth fly around and hit the floor.
Garret walks to me, dust covers the area before he realizes it a smaller beam of mana comes from the dust hitting garret in the shoulder this much denser beam causes him to bleed, once the smoke clears Garret looks at me, my hands are shaking and bleeding, my hoodie and shirt are ripped and drenched in blood my legs are broken from the fall, I slowly drop my hands and pass out.
Garret: "Sorry Atom, but can't trust you yet"
Garret looks around trying to find his way out, he walks through through the forest until he reaches a house, a small house that looks interesting, it seems to be under construction, not professionally though, Garret walks in the house guessing it was Atoms that he mentioned earlier, he see the floor is cleaned from what looks like an old and run down house, in fact looking around the inside looks like it's being entirely remodeled.
He starts walking around the home inspired by the surprisingly good work done, he finds a room that seems almost finished and walks inside, Atom's room. Looking around there's new flooring, walls, and even a roof, and what looks like modern furniture looking at his desk he sees the notebook on the desk which is open to a drawing, a map drawn by memory, of earth.
Garret runs out of the house and to me picking me up and jumping to the nearest hospital.
