"Whaaattt?? How did you lose to that old lady?"
Kiana was immediately on my case as I walked into the stands, ignoring the rest of the students who were rambling on at the side about who would be the first to engage me.
Since we were at school now, Kiana was wearing something new.
A new school uniform if you may.
She wore a white top with a black corset bodice. To add on to that, she had a pair of short shorts and thigh-high boots.
Yeah, I know that short shorts was kinda tautology, but I'm gonna say it anyway.
She even had gloves and all that stuff. with a bullet belt clinched at her midriff.
One thing stood out though.
"Why the heck are you wearing a cape?"
The Incredibles set a really bad precedent for people wearing capes, even though hers wasn't really that long…
"Don't dodge the question!"
Hmm…
Seems like she didn't want me to talk about her state of dress.
That's fine.
I'll just make fun of her for it later.
I could only bite the bullet and look away half-heartedly from her. "Can't help it. She's just soooo strong."
"Heh. If that's the case, I'm gonna surpass you in no time." Kiana boasted. Her nose was upturned to the sky.
In response, I gave her a flick on the head.
"The only thing you're surpassing me in is wearing weird clothes."
"Ouch!" She covered her head in pain. "This is abuse!"
Then, she stomped a foot on the ground with crossed arms.
"I'll let you know that my fashion sense is the greatest! If I wanted to be a model, I could be one any time!"
It was at this time that an interruption came.
"The Bronya requests that Kiana move in. Gojo is about to get hounded."
In an instant, a gray haired girl dragged Kiana away from blocking me.
I gave her a nod of thanks, finally able to get to my seats. The girls that had likely come up with the courage to approach me at this time were cowed when I sat in the middle of Bronya and Kiana.
It was only then, did I finally have a good chance to look at her from up to down.
She had a wardrobe change too.
Bronya wore a dark navy-blue military coat that wrapped around her frame. Unlike Kiana, she wore a skirt.
Her legs had cybernetics, but they kinda looked like stockings. Gloves covered her hands, but there was some sort of weird cylinder thingy that covered her arms?
Wtf is that?
Nevermind.
I'm not gonna bother to comment.
As soon as I sat down, her eyes narrowed for a moment whilst she inspected me.
"Gojo… does not seem to be sweating?"
"The fight was pretty short to be fair."
"But you were still in a fight that you lost though?" Mei took her turn to cut in with a teasing smile. "Was it really that hard for you?"
"I don't know what you guys are talking about. I did the best I could. Are you guys mocking me for losing?" I defended myself with chagrin.
And again… guess what?
If you guessed that Mei also wore something else, you'd be a winner.
No prize though.
Our resident Herrscher of Thunder wore a crimson jacket with buttons up to the neck. Her collar was a mandarin collar, which just meant that it stood upright.
Her hair was tied into a high ponytail behind her head, and the outfit had lots of garnishes.
To add on to that, I'm noticing a recurring pattern in all the 'school uniforms' I've been seeing thus far.
Stockings.
They all wore stockings or something that looked like it.
Why the heck are they gonna wear stockings into the battlefield?
I really wanted to shake my head, but I kept all my complaints to myself. Instead, I could only see the teasing looks on Bronya and Mei's faces.
"Understood."
"Whatever you say~"
"So wait. Did Gojo hold back or not?"
Leave it to Kiana to not get the obvious subtext behind our conversation.
"Idiotka, what do you think? Lack of frustration, anger, or any negative emotion on Gojo's face. Think of how Gojo fought in the past as well."
"Bla bla bla." Kiana covered her ears. "I can't hear you over all the glazing you're doing."
"Anyways, can I just say, I have no idea why the heck you guys are wearing what you're wearing?"
Sorry.
I couldn't help myself.
"Why are you complaining about our outfits so much?" Kiana's hands went to her hips. "On second thought, why are you looking at them in so much detail?"
The implication of her words went unsaid.
Of course, everyone understood.
The three of them all turned towards me, waiting for my answer with smiles on their faces.
Except Bronya.
But she looked like she was having too much fun with this too.
"You're literally right in front of me? What do you mean, paying too much attention?"
"But you can choose not to look!"
"It's like seeing someone…" I paused, searching for the right words for a bit. Then, I said confidently. "Oh yeah! It's like seeing someone from some weird fashion show going on the streets! Of course I'm gonna pay attention."
"Gojo is calling us weird."
"Now you're gaslighting me!"
"The Bronya is stating only truths. Gojo should understand that falsehoods are not something that the Bronya can do."
"Is this a reference to your terrible lying skills?"
"..."
"The Bronya will tell the Principal that Gojo is bullying us."
"Bronya does have a point in all of this, y'know?" Mei placed a hand on her chin. "If you use that analogy, it usually means that you're likening us to it.
Oh my gosh…
"That… doesn't make sense! It's called an analogy for a reason!"
"I seem to have read somewhere that said people tend to subconsciously use analogies that match up with what they think…"
"Source?"
I just got an infuriating shrug from Mei.
So she just made it up.
Tell me the truth here…
Did Herrscher Mei take over without changing eye colours this time? This sounds exactly like something she would say…
…
Actually, on second thought, she would be more likely to insult everyone at the same time.
Regardless of that, I know without a doubt that I'm definitely being gaslighted!
Just look at them! They're trying to ragebait me so frigging hard. What in the world are these arguments?
It doesn't make a single ounce of sense??
"Hehe… he said a funny word…"
"..."
"..."
'..."
Thank you, Kiana, for completely changing the topic.
With that brief respite, our eyes met, showing the mirth hidden(it's not as well hidden as they think though).
It was only after a few moments that someone cracked first.
"Pfftt."
Mei's soft laughter filled our small area, causing her to cover her mouth politely.
Then, Kiana cracked.
And so did I.
Our laughter wasn't too loud, we were in class after all, but it was shared among us.
And at the side, Bronya had a small smile etched into her face as well.
I'm not gonna lie...
This was a really strange first day of school.
But still...
I like it.
