I spent all of yesterday searching for a Log Pose to Jaya Island but found nothing. The reason is simple—Jaya is a pirate island, and only pirates go there, so you won't find a Log Pose for it in regular shops.
Now, what should I do? Time is against me. Should I head to another island near Jaya and look for a Log Pose there? Or should I just set sail toward Jaya without one? It might be risky, but thanks to my ability to fly, I can always return to Alabasta if I get lost.
I wandered through the crowded streets, still trying to figure out a solution to my current dilemma.
"Wait, my friend!"
I heard a voice behind me, clearly directed at me. I turned around and saw a young man holding a small notebook, calling out to me.
"What do you want?" I gave him a small smile.
"This might sound rude, my friend, but I have to ask—are you the pirate hunter who killed Conrad the Black Bear?" The young man's eyes sparkled with curiosity.
"Yeah."
"That's amazing! Let me introduce myself—my name is Ganook, and I'm a journalist. Can I interview you?" He smiled brightly as he explained his purpose.
"An interview?" I stopped in the middle of the street, studying his face. His eyes were full of excitement, though his hands trembled slightly. "And why should I waste my time on this?"
Ganook quickly pulled out a pen and notebook from his pocket, as if afraid I'd run away. "Wait! When I was looking for you, I heard you were searching for a Log Pose to Jaya Island."
"Do you have one?"
"I don't personally have one, but my editor definitely does. If you agree to the interview, I'll get it for you."
My expression changed instantly. I nodded and followed him to a small café behind the main market. The place was nearly empty, with only two tables occupied by elderly men sipping tea.
"Alright, ask whatever you want."
"Your full name?"
"My name is Luka. I don't have a surname. My parents died before I turned one."
"How old are you?"
"Fourteen."
Upon hearing my age, Ganook's eyes widened in shock. At first, he seemed skeptical, but after I confirmed it, he accepted it.
"Conrad was in his forties when he started pirating—you weren't even born yet. And now, you killed him." The journalist sighed before continuing his questions.
"Where are you from?"
"Loguetown, in the East Blue."
"How did you kill Conrad?"
"I have a Devil Fruit power. That's how I beat him." The cups and spoons around us began floating.
"Whoa! Just as I thought—you're a Devil Fruit user!"
After a few more questions, the interview ended.
"Can I take a photo of you for the article?"
"Sure, just make sure I look good."
"Don't worry, I'm a professional photographer."
After a while, the journalist left, setting a meeting for the next day to give me the Log Pose to Jaya.

*The Next Morning*
The following morning, I found Ganook waiting for me at the central fountain, his camera hanging around his neck and his face flushed with excitement.
"Luka! Look what I brought you!" He proudly held up a small wooden box. "The genuine Jaya Log Pose—just as promised!"
I quickly opened the box, ignoring his eager gaze. The Log Pose looked sturdy, its needle pointing firmly northeast.
"My article about you will be on the front page tomorrow!" he said, adjusting his camera lens. "All of Alabasta will know the name 'Luka the Pirate Hunter'!"
I nodded as I pocketed the Log Pose. "Make sure my picture looks good."
Ganook laughed as he raised the camera. "Don't worry! I'll make you look like a real legend. Smile!"
"A fourteen-year-old boy who killed a pirate who's been terrorizing the seas for decades—an article like this will be huge in the Grand Line!" Ganook was beyond excited as he snapped more photos.
"You can write whatever you want in your article, but don't mention the ability I showed you. Just say I have a certain Devil Fruit power. And make the article highlight my heroic side so the ladies will like me. Do this, and I'll call you if I take down any other pirates—give you an exclusive." I made my demands clear, and Ganook agreed.
"Take this Den Den Mushi. My number's registered on it. If you run into trouble on the way, make sure to call me, and I'll write about you just like you want." Ganook handed me a purple Den Den Mushi with a note stuck to it.
With that, our meeting ended. Now, all I had to do was return to my ship and set sail for Jaya.
I left Ganook at the fountain, gripping the Log Pose tightly. All that was left was to head back to my ship, hidden in the desert, and make my way to Jaya.
Walking under Alabasta's scorching sun wasn't pleasant, but I was used to it. As I trudged through the sand dunes, I thought about how important newspapers were in this world. With no phones or internet, if you wanted people to know about you, you had to appear in the papers!
And that made their influence enormous.
"Ganook's gonna make me famous," I chuckled to myself.
Finally, I reached the spot where I'd hidden my ship. I kicked away the sand covering it—the same small ship I'd arrived in Alabasta with. The wood was still sturdy, and the sail was in good condition.
"Alright, old girl," I said, hopping aboard. "Time for another adventure!"
I grabbed the Log Pose and checked its direction. The needle pointed clearly northeast... straight to Jaya.
"Let's see what fate has in store for me there!"
The ship lifted into the sky, leaving Alabasta behind as I soared toward the pirate island of Jaya.
---
As I flew over the blue waters, something amazing caught my eye—a small floating restaurant tied to a protruding rock! The delicious smell of grilled meat rose into the air, pulling me in like a magnet.
"Oh man! That's the best thing I've smelled in weeks!"
I quickly lowered my ship and landed on the small wooden platform. The restaurant was just a tiny shack with a stove and two stools, but the aroma... was incredible!
"Welcome, hungry customer!" A big-bellied chef greeted me with a wide grin. "Today's special is grilled King Bull steak with a secret sauce!"
"Give me two plates! No, make it three!" I replied, sitting on one of the stools.
Minutes later, a massive plate of tender meat, grilled veggies, and fresh bread was placed in front of me. The first bite made my eyes widen with joy.
"This... is the best thing I've ever tasted!"
The chef laughed heartily. "That's because the meat's fresh! I caught the beast myself this morning!"
I devoured the food until I felt like I'd burst. Then I glanced at my ship. "Can you pack some meals to go? I'll be at sea for a while."
"Of course! That'll be an extra 400,000 Beri."
"I'll pay double." When I get a chance to flaunt my money, I don't waste it.
I handed over the cash with a grin and carried a wooden crate filled with delicious food back to my ship. "Thanks! Maybe I'll come back someday!"
The chef waved. "Good luck on your journey, kid!"
I returned to my ship, feeling satisfied. At least now I had some great food for the trip to Jaya.
I took off again, the Log Pose pointing straight ahead. But this time, my mouth was full of an extra piece of meat I'd saved for the road.
