[Luca's Office—Continuation—Luca's Pov]
No… no… no way.
Jessie noticed my frozen expression. "Uh… Luca? You okay? Why do you look like you just saw a ghost?"
I didn't respond. I could feel that voice—that presence.
"Finally… we meet, my boy…"
I froze, then slowly turned my head.
There he was. Salvo Mancini. Hands casually in his pockets, the same smirk, the same sharp gaze that could cut steel. Same… aura of danger.
I wanted to scream. I wanted to bolt. But I didn't. This wasn't the dark world anymore. This wasn't Alfio, trembling in fear under his gaze.
This was my world. I was Luca now. And I had survived.
I straightened my shoulders, lifted my chin, and met his gaze. "You must be the new boss," I said evenly, voice steady, calm—not afraid, not flustered. "Welcome to the office, Sir Salvo."
Salvo's smirk widened, but I didn't flinch. I was ready for this.
Because I was Luca. And no one—not even him—could make me Alfio again.
