Chapter 201 - The Fate of a Chance Reunion

Within the realm of the mind, white's consciousness and soul continued their endless penetration and enlightenment. Meanwhile, in the outside world, his physical body was undergoing a transformation, gradually decomposing and vanishing; even his soul began to dissipate. "Hubby... sister, what on earth is happening? Hubby will be alright, won't he?" Enis was so anxious she was on the verge of tears. Suōshā had never witnessed such an anomaly before and was at a total loss, unable to find words of comfort. The two of them watched helplessly as white's physical body and soul gradually vanished into nothingness.

"Perhaps he is undergoing something extraordinary; please do not worry, you two," Zisen God Master explained tentatively upon seeing the situation. In truth, he did not understand the nature of this scene either and was unable to offer any help. Furthermore, in the distance, God Incinerate had set off alone, and with their life or death unknown, the situation on both sides was deeply worrying.

The scene shifts back to that distant memory. Xinya was heading toward the neighboring city on her temperamental motorcycle. "This annoying piece of junk! Once I have the money, I'm definitely replacing you!" she grumbled helplessly. After over an hour of trekking, she finally reached the outskirts of Shuitai City. Although she had set out early this morning, thousands of people were fighting over the relief supplies, making them far from easy to obtain. After parking her motorcycle in the lot, Xinya rushed to the distribution site.

At the scene, the famished citizens had already formed a long queue. Fortunately, the supplies being distributed today were plentiful. Xinya quickly joined the line to wait. After an hour of queuing, she finally received a bag of grain. She lifted it to test the weight. "It looks like enough for twenty portions. Today's harvest isn't bad~" Clutching the heavy grain, Xinya walked back toward the parking lot. "Oh my, where did this filthy girl come from!" At a corner, she accidentally bumped into a passing high-society noblewoman. "I am very sorry," Xinya hurriedly bowed in apology. "Heh, collecting relief grain? Fine, I shall not lower myself to argue with a beggar. Disappear from my sight," the woman mocked, waving her pinky finger. "You!" The stubborn Xinya naturally couldn't stand such an insult, but thinking of the hard-won grain in her hands and fearing any mishap, she could only swallow her anger and walk away.

Having left the central district, she returned to her motorcycle still fuming. She carefully loaded the grain onto the bike when a sneaky figure slowly approached her. Suddenly! Taking her by surprise, the figure snatched the communicator from her body and bolted. Xinya turned immediately: "You thief, don't run!" She gave chase desperately. On Planet Moi, communicators used independent portrait authentication, meaning they were useless even if stolen. Xinya was filled with confusion as to why someone would steal a communicator. After chasing the thief through several alleys, the thief, seeing he could not shake her, threw down the communicator and fled.

Xinya hurriedly picked up the communicator to check it; luckily, it wasn't broken. She breathed a sigh of relief, "What is wrong with that guy?" and walked back to the parking lot panting. When she finally made it back, the scene before her caused her to collapse instantly. The spot where her motorcycle had been parked was empty. The grain was gone, and the bike was gone. She couldn't believe her eyes. "How can the heavens be so cruel..." Regretful tears fell uncontrollably. Now, not only was the food gone, but even her precious means of transportation had been stolen.

Standing there dazed, she had no idea what to do. Aside from squeezing out useless tears, she was powerless to change the outcome. "Please don't do this to me..." Even her strong spirit was completely crushed at this moment. From Shuitai City back to the slums was at least half a day's walk. Now that she had nothing left, Xinya wiped away her tears with anger and remorse, setting off with a sorrowful expression.

Reaching the outskirts of the city and looking at the road ahead filled with flying sand and stones, she gave a helpless, bitter smile and began walking slowly along the roadside toward her old home. Under the scorching sun, every step was heavy. Xinya trudged forward with her head hung low, so consumed by regret that she wished she could just die, yet she felt she had to give everyone an explanation. After walking for about an hour, a luxury car pulled up behind her. "Yo, little lady, why are you walking here all alone? Let me give you a lift," three young men who looked like wealthy heirs greeted her with ill intent.

"No thank you, I can walk myself," Xinya rejected the invitation. "Since the day I was born, no girl has ever rejected me," the young man blocked Xinya's path with the car, and the three of them got out and approached. "What are you doing?" Xinya backed away warily. "I was wondering where that 'scent' was coming from; turns out it's coming from you, little girl. Come, this young master will take you to have a comfortable bath," the leading young man said, grabbing Xinya's hand to pull her toward the car. "Let go of me, you bastards!" Xinya thrashed and struggled desperately. "Behave yourself!" A heavy slap landed instantly, knocking Xinya to the ground, her consciousness blurring. "This one actually has some looks. Have the butler get the room ready; I'm going to dote on her properly in a moment," the man who struck her ordered his two followers with a wicked grin. "Let... go... of me..." Injured and exhausted, Xinya was ultimately no match for the kidnapping attempt by three men. Just as she was about to be lifted into the car, that mysterious man appeared once again.

"It would be quite problematic if my observation subject were taken away~" Lian Kong said with a smile.
