Chapter 220: A Precious New Life
Bibi Dong and Ah Yin were equally thrilled by the little girl's arrival, taking turns doting on the adorable child. She seemed a bit shy, barely able to speak, and could only scrunch her brows in quiet endurance under their playful affection. When it became too overwhelming, she wriggled free from their grasp and clung to Ye Wen's leg, casting a wary glance back at the two women.
Seeing her timid expression, Ye Wen's heart softened. He gently patted her head.
"It's okay, little one. They mean no harm. You two might want to ease up a bit she's still getting used to us, and she's a bit shy."
Ah Yin, her cheeks tinged with embarrassment, scratched her face sheepishly as she embraced her eldest daughter.
"It's just… Tianxin stopped being this cute so quickly! I don't get much satisfaction being a mom anymore," she sighed with mock exasperation.
Ye Tianxin, overhearing, flushed with embarrassment, feigning resistance with a few token struggles.
Bo Saixi, showing a bit more restraint, lightly patted the little girl on the head, smiling as she said,
"Sorry for scaring you, little one."
Then, turning to Ye Wen, she asked, "Have you found out anything about this little one?"
Ye Wen shook his head. "Not yet; I only just met her. But…I've already decided to take her in. After all," he said, his gaze softening as he looked at the child, "she's got white hair."
The ancient genetic memory stirred within him this white haired little girl had already charmed her way into his heart. Over time, she seemed to grow comfortable with Ah Yin and Bo Saixi, though she remained most attached to Ye Wen. Her innocent charm quickly won over everyone in the Blue Silver Forest, turning her into the beloved mascot of the whole community.
However, continually referring to her as "little one" seemed a bit impersonal, so it was time to give her a name. She tugged at Ye Wen's sleeve, looking up with her violet eyes, and whispered, "Na'er."
He picked her up, holding her close.
"Na'er is that your name?" he asked gently. The little girl nodded, her expression trusting and sweet.
"Alright then," Ye Wen replied. "From now on, you'll be Ye Na'er. Or Little Na'er. We're family now, Na'er. Please take care of us."
The girl looked up at him, her heart filled with warmth as she nodded obediently. After letting her go off to play, Ye Wen's expression grew thoughtful. Bo Saixi stepped closer, lowering her voice.
"There's something off about her, isn't there?"
Ye Wen nodded, his voice quiet.
"Her body is undoubtedly human, but there's something unusual about her soul. It's faint, yet clearly divine in nature. Her bloodline is also highly unique its essence is fused with an extreme attribute. She likely possesses a top tier martial spirit."
Ye Wen had a compassionate nature but wasn't naive. He'd sensed the strange charm radiating from Na'er immediately upon seeing her an aura that invited a natural affection. And there were countless red flags: How had this young girl managed to appear in his daughter's tent, deep within the treacherous Star Dou Forest? Few entities in that region had the ability to pull off such a feat.
Even with suspicions swirling in his mind, Ye Wen chose not to burden Bo Saixi with his concerns. He thought carefully instead. The Silver Dragon King's actions felt peculiar direct and straightforward wasn't her style. If she intended a confrontation, she wouldn't be so subtle; even wounded, she could endanger the entire Douluo Planet. Her true intentions were unclear, especially given that Na'er, even upon seeing him, showed no signs of recognition or any agenda.
"Just what are you up to, Silver Dragon King?" Ye Wen mused, narrowing his eyes. But without more information, even he couldn't decipher her motives, and for the time being, he resolved to let things lie. Raising such an adorable little girl had its own rewards.
If it turned out that this was a test by the Silver Dragon King to assess him or gauge his cooperation, so be it. Na'er was pure hearted, with a human spirit and body, yet undeniably powerful potential. Once her martial spirit awakened, she would certainly become an unrivaled prodigy a valuable addition to his future plans.
A warm smile crossed his face.
"Such a cute little thing," he murmured to himself. "Daddy's here to take care of you, Na'er."
Six months flew by, and in that time, Tang San finally reached level 40. Feeling the powerful energy radiating from his Thunderclap Blue Vine, he smiled with renewed confidence. Tang Hao, having observed his son from the shadows, now emerged, thoroughly pleased with the progress his son had made.
At just fourteen years old and already at the rank of Spirit Elder Tang Hao couldn't be prouder. If he hadn't been banished from the clan, Tang San would likely have been destined to become the next Haotian Douluo. The father and son left Thunderclap Academy quietly, slipping away unnoticed. By the time Yu Xiaogang noticed their departure, a week had passed.
"Ungrateful lot," he muttered to himself. Tang Hao and Tang San had used up a wealth of resources, leaving without so much as a thank you. Yet, with Tang Hao finally gone, Yu Xiaogang felt he could breathe easier. He'd slept better that night than he had in years, relieved to be rid of the Title Douluo's unnerving presence.
Tang Hao's pride wouldn't allow him to seek Yu Xiaogang's assistance in finding a Thunder Dragon spirit beast. He instead hunted a nine thousand year old Thunderclap Ape for Tang San a spirit beast known for generating powerful lightning through its chest thumping.
While he had considered a ten thousand year spirit ring, Tang San's spirit power wasn't yet mature enough to handle it, especially given his lack of experience with spiritual enhancements like the Purple Demon Eye to bolster his mental endurance.
