Chapter 323: The Era of the Douluo God Realm – Part XIII: The Expedition

The grand spectacle of the Gate of Realms was broadcast live to the entire Douluo world. Countless soul masters left their homes, gazing with reverence and fervor at the sky, where Ye Wen's miraculous creation was displayed.

"Praise to the Great Creator!"

"May the God bless His people!"

"You are my lifelong faith I will follow you always!"

Millions of soul masters across Douluo intoned Ye Wen's name, praying, worshipping, and celebrating in various ways. Now, in the digital age, many quickly turned to the Holy Soul Empire's official website, eager to check the specific requirements for this once in a lifetime event.

But the requirements on the website soon had some soul masters on edge.

"Why?! Oh, great Creator, why is it so strict?"

"No chance for me in this lifetime, I guess…"

"Ugh, this is insane!"

Complaints soon rose throughout Douluo. To join the Realm Expedition, a soul master needed to be at least at the Soul Sage level. While almost everyone in this era could reach soul master status, talent and aptitude still varied widely. For the average soul master, reaching the Soul King level was already an achievement, but Soul Sage was only within reach for the most talented.

And even for the elite Soul Sages, it wasn't going to be easy. Ye Wen's expedition target was a realm formerly governed by the Old God Realm. Having traversed this part of the universe, Ye Wen had carefully mapped the nearby star realms, noting locations to reclaim them strategically. This first expedition was to set a precedent, with a carefully selected number of participants.

Only 1,000 Soul Sages, 100 Soul Douluos, 20 Title Douluos, and one God level powerhouse would lead the mission. In an era where the Douluo population was vast, and there were over 100,000 Soul Sages, the stringent requirements left many feeling frustrated. The chance to become a god, especially within a hundred years, was a rare opportunity for any soul master, as a hundred years often represented an entire lifetime for many.

Although Douluo soul masters now generally had a lifespan of 200 years upon reaching Soul Sage level, only those who demonstrated the strength and dedication to break through were truly favored for consideration. Those who failed to go beyond were simply not in Ye Wen's consideration. Instead of yearning for the expedition, they'd do well to focus on training and improving their lineage to raise future generations with greater potential.

With all preparations meticulously underway, Ye Wen was the first to enter the cosmos and test the Gate of Realms himself. Although he'd meticulously designed it, such a monumental artifact would naturally require real world adjustments, and the hundred year period would allow ample time for fine tuning.

"The core is working perfectly; solar conversion to divine power is operating smoothly. Given the efficiency, we should be able to amass enough divine power for a full range interstellar transport once every ten years. The storage capacity is a little small, capped at 1,000 transmission units, but with only 231 realms under the former God Realm, it's enough for now," he noted, thinking that he could make refinements once he advanced further in his studies.

In addition to harnessing solar energy passively, the Gate of Realms had an active solar absorption function, which enabled it to appear as a radiant ring around the sun visible from Douluo. This absorption ring, a byproduct of its design, could even control the intensity of sunlight reaching Douluo, providing a unique capability for potential climate manipulation.

For Ye Wen and other god level beings, a century felt like the blink of an eye. The selection of Soul Sages was completed 80 years ago, consisting of only the most talented with innate full soul power. The subsequent selection of Soul Douluos and Title Douluos followed the same high standards.

When the day of the expedition finally arrived, Ye Wen, as the lead commander, surveyed his chosen warriors with pride. Below him stood a team of disciplined, battle ready soul masters, each one infused with both military prowess and reverence. Their eyes shone with fervor as they gazed back at Ye Wen. For them, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to become part of Douluo's history, as the Creator himself, the great Sea King Ye Wen, led them into this bold new era.

This scene was broadcast worldwide, and everyone in Douluo was glued to their screens, watching history in the making.

"Warriors, board the vessel!" Ye Wen commanded, his voice powerful and resolute.

The soul masters began filing into the massive red ringed vessel, a spacecraft modeled after a blood red, ten thousand year spirit ring, symbolizing Douluo's spirit beast heritage. As a warship, it bore nine golden bands, symbolizing Ye Wen's supreme rank, with the design serving as a prototype for future expeditions.

The first warship, "Sea King," was outfitted with nine gold bands to denote its supreme level. Future designs would follow this hierarchy, from nine golden bands for god kings to three golden bands for lesser gods and lower. The blood red exterior, representing Douluo's powerful spirit beast energy, held both functional and symbolic meaning. Built with divine materials, the ship could endure the challenges of space and be a formidable force in any battle against ordinary realms.

At Ye Wen's command, the Sea King ascended, heading toward the Gate of Realms. The world watched as the expedition set forth, each soul master's heart ablaze with anticipation and awe.

From this day on, the future of Douluo would no longer be confined to a single planet or realm. The gates of the multiverse lay open, ready for exploration, expansion, and conquest.
