"What the hell!" Kaelith exclaimed sharply at Jaden's words, his voice echoing with raw disbelief as he stared hard at his friend. Frustration rippled through his chest like a storm threatening to burst. That was it. Sometimes Jaden had sense, sometimes he even knew the right thing to say, but most of the time he was utterly foolish—stupid to the point of making Kaelith wonder why he even kept him around.
Can't they just get going to the interview already so he could return, lie on his bed, and rest? Shit! His body was screaming for peace, not another round of Jaden's nonsense.
"I know what I'm saying," Jaden added confidently, noticing the shift in Kaelith's expression—from attentiveness to visible annoyance, as though each word he uttered was a heavy stone dropping on Kaelith's nerves.
"What could possibly be right in whatever it is you're saying, huh?" Kaelith snapped, his tone sharp, his eyes narrowed with impatience as he urged Jaden to either speak clearly or keep silent.
