Chapter 101 - Chapter 101 – Two Spirit Souls Reside Within the Mechas

"Really, all thanks to the expert from Dragon Phoenix Hall."Secretary-General Pan Wen finally let out a long sigh of relief, his forehead already slick with cold sweat.

Two black mechas and three purple mechas advanced in formation, surrounding Yunze and Gu Yuena.Earlier, when that terrifying powerhouse was still present, they hadn't dared to act recklessly — a single strike from that man could have easily ended their lives. But now that he had flown into the sky, likely busy with something else, they could finally attack without fear.

Seeing the five mechas closing in, Gu Yuena's expression grew solemn. Her martial soul flared to life as she prepared for battle. Each black mecha possessed strength equivalent to a Contra, while the purple ones were roughly at the Soul Sage level. That meant two Contras and three quasi-Soul Sages were about to besiege them.

Yunze, however, remained completely calm — as still as a deep ancient well.It seemed that nothing could ever disturb his emotions. He was not one to panic; to him, panic was meaningless, especially in battle.

The five mechas clearly had no intention of wasting time.Their approach was fierce and decisive — they were ready to strike.

"Old Yang, protect them!"A director from Sun Moon Royal Academy shouted in urgency.

Yang Fan also noticed what was happening. His heart clenched, and his soul power erupted like a volcano. With a shockwave, he sent away the mechas besieging him and flew toward Yunze and Gu Yuena for support.

"Don't hold back," thought Tang Wulin coldly, his eyes glinting with hatred.Ye Xinglan, Xie Xie, and the others beside him harbored the same thought — they wanted those five mechas to go for the kill.

Yunze raised his right hand. Two specially-made storage rings on his palm flashed with dazzling light, and two gigantic mechas appeared in front of him.

At the same moment, two streams of flame burst out from Yunze's body, each flying into one of the newly summoned mechas.

Originally, mechas were lifeless machines — but with those flames entering them, they suddenly came alive. The metallic forms began to move as if breathing.

"ROAR!"

One of the mechas — a towering humanoid over ten meters tall — let out an earth-shaking roar.Jets of fire erupted from its feet, propelling it through the air like a beast of war.

This humanoid mecha stood seventeen or eighteen meters tall, with limbs as thick as columns. Its dark-red metallic surface was lined with glowing, fiery red streaks — the marks burned like real flame.

Its sheer size radiated an oppressive presence, and the energy it emitted only made that pressure more suffocating.

"What in the world…?"The pilot of the black mecha directly facing it was dumbfounded.

He could understand Yunze summoning two mechas out of storage — after all, with a large enough storage ring, even massive mechas could be stored. But… to summon them already active? Moving on their own? That was simply impossible!

His first thought was that he'd seen a ghost. It was too strange — nothing like this had ever appeared in any report or record.

But even though he was shocked, the pilot didn't freeze up.He quickly controlled his mecha to defend and counterattack.

The humanoid mecha clenched its enormous metal fist — large enough to crush a buffalo — and hurled it forward. The blow generated a searing shockwave; the air itself trembled, space rippled, and the force of the strike could easily shatter a mountain.

The pilot of the tiger-shaped black mecha felt a chill run down his spine. He hadn't expected such overwhelming power.

His own mecha was already massive — nearly five meters tall, with claws larger than washbasins. But compared to the humanoid mecha's colossal fist, his weapon looked fragile.

BOOM!Fist and claw collided with a deafening metallic clang.

"Ahhh—!"

The tiger mecha was hurled backward, spinning violently in midair.Inside the cockpit, the pilot's head reeled as he screamed — the impact had completely thrown the mecha out of control. It was like a giant boulder being flung by some godly hand.

CRASH!The black tiger mecha slammed into a mountainside, flattening several trees and embedding itself several meters deep into the rock.Smoke billowed out from its body.

The entire battlefield froze for a moment.Even Title Douluos couldn't hide their shock — their eyes all turned toward the towering humanoid mecha.

They were astonished not only by its massive size, but also by the terrifying aura it radiated.

With modern advances in soul tool engineering, such enormous mechas had long been discontinued. The reason was simple: oversized mechas were inefficient. They were hard to control, consumed excessive energy and materials, and offered little more power than smaller, more advanced units.

Given all those flaws, such mechas were considered obsolete relics — a waste of effort to produce.

But what truly shocked everyone wasn't the size — it was the presence.

"Its aura… it's comparable to a Title Douluo! Am I mistaken?"Yang Fan hovered in midair, staring in disbelief at the humanoid mecha.

He wasn't sure. Based on his experience, this wasn't a red-class mecha — yet the energy it emitted was of Title-level strength. It didn't make sense. It left him deeply uncertain.

In truth, his initial judgment was correct. This wasn't a red-class mecha.

It was a top-tier black-class mecha — one specially crafted by Yunze, designed to house a spirit soul.

It was similar to the Vajra Demon Ape mecha he had built before — except that this one's spirit soul was none other than the Lava Monarch.

Yes — the humanoid mecha was piloted by the Lava Monarch itself.Yunze had fused his own spirit soul into the machine.

The mecha had its own energy core and a high-efficiency soul power converter. It didn't need the spirit soul to provide energy — the soul only had to control it.

This was an idea Yunze had conceived back when he built the Vajra Demon Ape mecha — to let a spirit soul merge directly with a machine. That way, spirit souls that were otherwise a burden to him could still unleash immense combat power without draining his strength.

The second mecha beside it was modeled after the Fiery Nine-Headed Bird.It was similarly large — over ten meters tall — designed to store more energy for longer sustained combat.

The Nine-Headed Bird took flight, its nine metallic heads swaying fluidly in midair like living creatures.

"BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!"

Fireballs three to four meters wide erupted from its mouths, raining down upon the four remaining enemy mechas.

The pilots of those mechas instantly sensed the terrifying power within the approaching flames and scrambled to dodge.

The two black mechas were fast enough to narrowly evade several blasts, but the three purple mechas weren't so lucky.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Three huge explosions shook the mountain range. Two purple mechas were blown apart instantly; the third was crippled and crashed helplessly into the forest below.

But the Fiery Nine-Headed Bird didn't stop. Its nine heads continued to spew energy fireballs like a battery of soul cannons, each shot precisely aimed at enemy mechas in close range.

The battlefield descended into chaos. The mecha pilots below were horrified, fleeing desperately — some escaped, some didn't.

Each fireball carried the destructive force of a Contra-level attack.Even the black mechas didn't dare take them head-on.Any purple mecha struck was instantly destroyed.

Under Yunze's spiritual command, the Fiery Nine-Headed Bird spread its wings wide, flying forward to extend its bombardment across the rest of the battlefield.
