Chapter 145 - Chapter 138 : The Meeting with the King of Mafias

It was inevitable.

His father finally called for him.

In the grand study—where the most ruthless deals were made—Vincent stood before his father, his expression calm.

His father, the once-untouchable King of Mafias, looked at his son with a mixture of wariness and intrigue.

For a long time, he simply studied Vincent.

Then, he finally spoke.

"You've done what no one else could.""You've made the Blackwood name even stronger.""But I know you, Vincent. You don't do anything without reason."

A slow smirk tugged at Vincent's lips.

"Then you already know the answer."

His father leaned forward, his piercing green eyes unblinking.

"Tell me, Vincent—what is it you truly want?"

Silence filled the room.

Then, Vincent took a step forward, his presence overwhelming.

"I don't want the Blackwood empire.""I don't need the title of heir.""I want absolute power."

A heavy silence followed his words.

His father studied him—then, for the first time in decades, he laughed.

It was a dark, knowing laugh.

"You're a monster, Vincent."

Vincent merely smiled.

"Then you should be proud."

And with that, he turned and walked away, leaving his father in stunned silence.

Because in that moment, the true King had already been decided.
