For a few seconds, there was silence.
Then, laughter.
Some of the Council members scoffed. Others shook their heads. A few looked intrigued. But the Chairman? He simply watched them.
"You two are bold," he said finally. "But the game has existed long before you. Do you really think you can change it?"
Vincent smirked. "Change it? No."
He leaned forward, his green eyes glinting like a predator who had just spotted his prey.
"We're going to destroy it and rebuild it however we want."
The Council was no longer laughing.
They had underestimated them once.
They wouldn't make that mistake again.
