Synopsis
Synopsis Detective Elias Mercer, known as ‘Mercy’ for his angelic demeanor, hides a mind as sharp as a blade and a heart as cold as the cases he solves. A former journalist framed and cast out, he now walks the thin line between justice and obsession, unraveling the city’s darkest secrets one case at a time. When Adrian Holt, a man seemingly swallowed by the shadows, vanishes without a trace, Elias is dragged into a mystery far deeper than he anticipated. His only lead? Evelyn Drake—a woman who speaks in riddles and keeps secrets like currency. As Elias peels back the layers of deception, a familiar name resurfaces from his past: Nathaniel Voss, a phantom figure lurking behind countless crimes, always just out of reach. With each step forward, the case tightens around him, drawing him into a web of corruption, fear, and a truth far more sinister than murder. The deeper Elias digs, the more he realizes—some ghosts aren’t meant to be found, and some truths are buried for a reason. But Elias Mercer doesn’t believe in walking away. And this time, the darkness is watching back.

Chapter 1 - Detective Elias

Detective Elias mercer also known as 'mercy', for his seemingly kind and angel-like exterior which gives the impression of an angel on earth. but that's the only thing 'angelic' about him...

for beneath that angelic exterior lies a dark, cold and calculating personality which many fail to see through until their final moments...in death.

'Aaahhhh I'm sooo tired' detective Elias yawned as he went through the cases laid on his desk which stacked so high that it was barely visible though the room, 'sometimes I wish I didn't choose this job~' he mumbled as he chewed on his ball pen which had obviously seen better days.

'C'mon bro you know you're gonna keep doing it as long as you breathe'. Elias' closest friend since high school and his only supporter during his journalism days before he got framed and kicked out, Collins Monroe, a tall and lean man with a build which suggests that he's seen alot of fights but never lost one with a gruff exterior and unkempt black hair, often tousled when running his hand through his hair as a force of habit. Said 'i've known you since high school remember, you always complain that you hate stuff but always beat everyone at it.'

'Well that's because they don't try hard enough' Elias said.

'Yeah yeah whatever, anyways there's a new case for you today'. Collins said with a punchable face 'and guess who the boss decided to give it to~'

'Awww come oooonnn, I haven't finished these cases and there's more~'. Elias groaned while rubbing his temples with a dejected face.

'Well that's why you get for solving cases even the CIA couldn't crack in years in a matter of weeks'. Collins said while smiling in schadenfreude.
