Chapter 50 - CHAPTER 49 – YAMI CONQUERED

Note: Ok, it seems that you could understand the other chapter very well so... here you have another one.

And another thing, I'll put in the comments images with the most destacable thing in the chapter. Image made by IA, of course.

Have a good day :)

...

"Of course," I nodded.

"But… what kind of alien is this? I've never seen you use it before," Yami said in surprise.

"This alien just awakened the moment I was about to die. Its powers are simple—it can heal any wound or illness. In other words, as long as the person isn't dead, I can heal them. I think I'll call it Vitalis," I explained.

"It can heal any wound or disease?" Yami asked, astonished.

What kind of alien was this? It reminded her of Mikado. After all, Mikado could do almost the same—heal any wound or sickness, even when someone was close to death. As long as they weren't dead yet, Mikado could cure them. Who would have thought an alien standing before her could wield the same kind of power?

"That's right," I confirmed.

In truth, I knew a little more about this alien thanks to the Omnitrix. Now I had basic information about its origins, race, and abilities. Vitalis belonged to the Sanethrian race from the planet Naetheris, beings made entirely of pure energy, which technically made them immortal. I knew even more, but this wasn't the moment to explain everything.

"But then… what about the hole in your chest?" Yami asked.

I glanced down, and sure enough, there was still a hole.

"Right, I'd forgotten about that," I muttered.

The moment I became aware of the wound, it closed automatically. Physical damage couldn't harm me at all in this form. But because the injury had been inflicted while I was still human, it carried over even into this alien body.

"Well then, it's time to get rid of you," I said with a sharp glare.

Yust had been frozen since my transformation, convinced he was trapped in some nightmare. What had just happened? How could a human turn into such a being? How could I heal a wound like it was nothing? He couldn't comprehend any of it.

"But first…" I added.

I reached out and touched Yami lightly with one finger. Instantly, the effects of the drug vanished.

"I don't feel weak anymore!" Yami said, astonished.

In fact, she felt better than before, overflowing with energy—"revitalized" was the perfect word.

"That's impossible! The drug shouldn't wear off for at least five hours!" Yust cried in disbelief.

It had been concocted from powerful anesthetic plants gathered from several planets, along with others that weakened a victim's strength—exactly what had subdued Yami.

"Against me, your drug is worthless. No matter what poisons or venoms you create, they're useless," I said coldly.

"No! I refuse to believe it!" Yust roared.

His so-called perfect concoctions, useless against a mere human? Impossible! He was Yust, infamous across the galaxy for killing with poison. No one could match him!

He raised his pistol and fired several times at me, but all that remained were holes in my body that quickly sealed themselves shut—all except one.

"Considering you kidnapped my dear Yami, drugged her, and even tried to kill me, there's only one fate left for you," I said grimly.

I lifted my hand and pointed a finger at him.

"Reflection Heal," I declared.

The wound in my chest closed, and in that same instant, a hole of equal size opened in Yust's chest.

"No… impossible…" Yust gasped.

He collapsed, blood pouring out, his heart destroyed.

Did you think the holes in my chest healed slowly? No—I had left them open on purpose to make him believe that. I wanted him to think I was vulnerable, just so I could use this ability on him. But in truth, I had only meant to wound him and then deliver him to Zastin for interrogation. I needed to know which noble had sent him, and also about the one who had ordered Kurt to kill me. Hurting me was one thing, but harming my sweet Yami? For that, I'd kill him with my own hands. Still… I miscalculated. I hadn't realized the wound I inflicted struck his heart. By using that ability, I had nearly killed him outright.

"Damn it, I didn't mean to kill him. I needed information about who sent him," I cursed.

"Don't worry. His species has two hearts. He isn't dead, just gravely injured. On the brink of death, yes, but if healed, he could live normally," Yami explained.

"Oh, perfect then," I said.

I crouched and pressed my hand against his shoulder, sealing the wound in his chest.

"Good, he's alive," I confirmed.

Then I tapped the Omnitrix symbol, reverting back to my human form.

"Are you all right, Yami?" I asked, my concern evident.

I had healed her completely, but I still couldn't help worrying.

"Yes… thank you so much for coming. But you shouldn't have risked your life for me… I don't deserve it," Yami whispered.

"Why would you think that? Explain it to me," I asked, frowning.

"Because… I used to be just like Yust. An assassin. I killed countless people," Yami admitted.

I understood.

"Tell me one thing: did you ever enjoy it?" I asked.

"I… it was just work. I never enjoyed killing," she denied.

"Then you're nothing like Yust. You were simply someone with a grim job," I replied.

"But… what about all the lives I've taken?" she pressed.

"There's no undoing that. You killed, yes, but you've changed. And that's what matters," I said honestly.

The weight of the past couldn't be erased, only carried.

"Still…" Yami murmured.

"If that burden is too much for you, then let me help carry it," I told her.

"Eh? How?" Yami asked, confused.

"Whenever you feel like crying, whenever you feel sad, whenever you need someone to talk to—tell me. I don't care about the time or place. Just call me, and I'll come as fast as I can. And believe me when I say I can be very fast," I said, tapping the Omnitrix with a small smile.

"I don't understand…" Yami said quietly.

"What don't you understand?" I asked.

"I don't understand why you're so kind to me. Since the moment we met, you've only shown me kindness. To me—a killer who has taken countless lives. You even wanted to help me leave that life behind. Tell me, Akira: why did you decide to help me when you didn't know me? Why help me when I tried to kill you? I don't understand!" Yami cried.

Why? Why was he treating her with such warmth despite everything she had done and tried to do? She couldn't comprehend it.

"First of all, I don't need a reason to help someone in trouble. And second… it's because I like you," I said.

The time had come.

Hearing those words, Yami's heart pounded wildly, and her face flushed red.

"Y-you like me?" she stammered.

If anyone saw the infamous Konjiki no Yami like this, they'd think they were dreaming. The cold, ruthless assassin, acting timid in front of a human? Who could believe such a thing?

"That's right. I liked you from the moment I saw you standing outside that store. You were beautiful," I admitted.

Yami was speechless, unable to process his words.

"Don't think I helped you just because of that. But I won't lie—that was one of the reasons too. So I have something to ask you, and I hope your answer is yes," I said.

Yami stared at me, her heartbeat racing, her face flushed, her palms sweaty.

"Would you accept becoming my woman? I'll even make you my wife instead of just a concubine," I asked seriously.

At those words, the feelings Yami had long buried, the true emotions she once confessed to Mikado, surged uncontrollably.

"Yes! I accept!" she cried.

She threw herself into my arms, hugging me tightly, terrified this was all just a dream—that she'd wake up back in her spaceship and realize none of this had been real. That the happiness she had finally tasted would vanish.

"Then from now on, you're my woman, and no one will ever take you from me," I declared.

I kissed her. I pressed my lips firmly against hers—lips any man would have longed to kiss.

Yami froze at first, startled. For a brief moment she thought of pulling away, but soon her heart overruled her doubts, and she returned the kiss. Why should she resist? She had already accepted being mine. Lovers kissed, after all. And besides, it felt wonderful. For the first time, heat blossomed within her body, even in places she had never felt before. She had never experienced anything like it.

It should be said: Yami knew nothing about intimacy. She had never explored herself, and of course, she was still a virgin.

We kissed for a long while, savoring the bond we now shared. Minutes passed like seconds, neither of us wanting to stop, until at last our lungs demanded air and we reluctantly parted.

"All right. I'll take this fool to Zastin, and then we'll talk about where you'll live. Sound good?" I asked.

Yami seemed shy now. In the end, I had melted her frozen heart. What puzzled me was why her Darkness Mode hadn't triggered at all. There was no way she hadn't felt lust during that kiss. The only explanation was that the activation condition had changed. It no longer triggered from arousal alone—something else was required. Honestly, I was grateful. I didn't know how I would've stopped Yami in her Darkness form. Right now, she was strong enough to destroy planets with ease. One day, I would be able to match her and even defeat her without problem. But for now, I couldn't. I needed to focus on honing my skills and unlocking more aliens.

"Yami… since you can fly, just follow me," I said.

"Yes," Yami replied, still dazed.

She was overwhelmed by all she had just experienced in the past few minutes—minutes that would be unforgettable.

"All right, let's go," I said.

I transformed into Jetray and shot into the sky, Yami following closely behind.

Minutes later, I arrived at Zastin's residence—his spaceship hidden deep in the forest. Just like last time, he came to meet me immediately.

"Akira-sama. What has happened?" Zastin asked.

Then he noticed Yust, carried in Yami's arms, and immediately understood.

"I see. Another assassin?" he asked.

"That's right," I confirmed.

He glanced at Yami, who tossed Yust toward him. Zastin caught the man effortlessly with one hand.

"They're getting more aggressive," I said.

"Yes, that's expected. Likely because they've already learned of Kurt's death," Zastin replied.

"I assume he was executed," I said.

"Indeed. After all, he attempted to assassinate the future heir to the throne. The punishment is death… unless special conditions apply," Zastin said, his eyes drifting toward Yami.

"Don't worry. Yami has just officially become my woman. Isn't that right?" I said, looking at her.
