*Note: I'm ill and I feel very bad, however, I'll bring you today's chapter.
One more think, I decided that Dita will appear in the future as another OG character. Why? Only see today's picture and you'll understand.
Have a good day and comment If you liked the chapter, thanks :)
...
After chatting for a while longer, Momo, Nana and I decided to head back — not to our house, but to Mikan's place.
Apparently Yami and Lala had already helped Mikan clean up, and Mikan invited us over for dinner as usual, so we left for her house without wasting any time.
…
Watching the three of them leave, Zastin sighed.
He was finally on a break after days of intense surveillance. At last he could relax a little, sample human cuisine and even enjoy their primitive television programs which, surprisingly, weren't all that bad; he had particularly enjoyed anime.
However, after receiving this surprising news, his future was unlikely to stay peaceful, because once again he would have to report this unexpected situation to the king.
With that in mind, Zastin put on his usual armor and called the king immediately.
After placing the call, the king's figure appeared on the screen.
"What is it, Zastin? I didn't expect a report from you so soon. Besides, I thought you were on a break," Gid said.
In fact, it was Gid who had told Zastin to take a short vacation. Apparently the assassination attempts had stopped for the time being and it seemed no one had sent any assassins, so a bit of rest would help Zastin recharge for the future — a future that, by the way, would not be peaceful at all.
"Your Majesty, I have very important news to report and it cannot wait," Zastin said.
Seeing Zastin's serious expression, Gid's demeanor turned grave as well.
"Has something happened?" Gid asked.
"Your Majesty, this is what occurred…" Zastin began.
He wasn't going to beat around the bush; it was better to explain everything from the start to avoid tedious follow-up explanations later.
After hearing Zastin's account, even Gid — who was never easily shaken — was surprised. Had Akira really managed to win over his two daughters in just one week? Were these the same Momo and Nana who had rejected any contact with men? How was it possible?
Even he, who normally remained calm no matter how dire the situation, was astonished by Akira's ability to conquer women.
"This is… certainly… quite surprising," Gid said thoughtfully.
"What should we do now, Your Majesty?" Zastin asked.
"Zastin, I foresaw this possibility. It may be that the human won my daughters over sooner than I anticipated, but that doesn't change my plans in the slightest; timing is irrelevant to them," Gid replied.
"What do you intend to do?" Zastin asked.
"I will announce Momo and Nana's engagement to Akira across the galaxy, just as I did with Lala," Gid said.
"Your Majesty, that will only cause an even bigger disaster than before. I don't want to imagine how aggressive some nobles will become when they learn what Akira-sama has accomplished," Zastin warned.
It wasn't that Momo and Nana were more popular than Lala — far from it — but the moment the nobles heard that the human had not only won Lala but had also become engaged to her sisters, they would go completely insane!
"You know I have no choice. If I don't do it now I'll have to do it later. As princesses, Nana and Momo's engagements can't remain hidden," Gid said.
"I understand, it's just that…" Zastin began.
"I understand, which is why I ask you to resume surveillance. Things will get turbulent in a few days and I need someone to protect my daughters from any danger. Is that clear?" Gid asked.
"Perfectly," Zastin replied.
"Good, because if Akira manages to overcome this challenge, he will be ready," Gid said.
It would be a lengthy challenge — one that would only end when Akira officially became king.
"I understand," Zastin said.
Zastin felt a pang of sympathy for what Akira would have to face from now on. Akira had already dealt with powerful assassins like Yami, but that didn't mean there weren't stronger ones out there. There existed beings possibly equal to or even beyond him, adversaries the current Akira could not face — beings only a king could defeat for good.
There were also many other assassins who, while not as strong as Yami, used different tactics: hiding in the shadows (racial special abilities) or employing concealed weapons. There were countless assassins with varied skills whom Akira would have to face, and some of them wouldn't hesitate to use any means necessary to kill him, even kidnapping people close to him.
"Now I will inform the entire galaxy of this. Be ready, Zastin," Gid said.
"Yes, Your Majesty," Zastin answered.
Then Gid disconnected.
Seeing this, Zastin sighed and collapsed onto his new sofa.
"My vacation is ruined. Why couldn't Your Majesty wait until my break was over? At this rate I won't have another vacation until Akira-sama becomes king! If that happens, I'll die from overwork!" he complained.
Even one of the most powerful beings in the galaxy needs rest to recuperate.
While Zastin prepared himself mentally and physically for what was to come, Gid had already set his plan in motion and revealed everything Zastin had told him.
…
The next day.
News that Akira — Lala's fiancé and the future king of the galaxy — had also become engaged to the two princesses Momo and Nana, and had even made the famous Konjiki no Yami his concubine, spread like wildfire across the galaxy within hours.
Yes, the king not only used the opportunity to announce his daughters' engagements to Akira, but he also revealed the truth about Yami. The reason was simple: to let the galaxy know that Yami was not only Akira's fiancée but that from this point on she would be absolved of any crimes she had committed up until now.
With the three princesses — and even Konjiki no Yami as his future concubine — in his hands, the entire galaxy was in an uproar, especially among the nobles. Previously, only the nobles who had tried to court Lala were angry at Akira for taking the position they felt they deserved, but now it was even worse.
By becoming engaged to Momo and Nana as well, the nobles who had proposed to them — having avoided Lala because they knew they had no chance — were enraged. All their plans to join the royal family had been ruined, and all because of a mere human from an underdeveloped planet!
Ninety‑nine percent of the nobles across the galaxy were furious, while the remaining one percent either celebrated the news or were indifferent — they simply didn't care. But the problem was that ninety‑nine percent.
The good thing was that most of these nobles were cowards who wouldn't dare act directly; they preferred to have others dirty their hands and then reap the benefits. Coupled with fear of the king's reprisals, the majority didn't even consider attempting to kill Akira. They could only grit their teeth and watch their chances of joining the royal family vanish.
However, a small percentage didn't care about consequences and simply wanted to kill the human who had stolen their opportunity to gain influence across the galaxy. Couldn't the human have left at least one sister free to give them a chance? Those nobles were livid.
But for now we'll set those nobles and their schemes aside and focus on an old acquaintance: Murlus V.
Like many other nobles, Murlus V learned the news quickly and was extremely enraged.
We find ourselves in the same throne room as before, with Dita at his side, observing her ruler's fury with a grim sort of pleasure.
Dita hated Murlus V deeply, so she reveled in his misfortune. At the same time she felt a twinge of sadness that her suspicions were confirmed: Yami had become engaged to the human, destroying any chance she might have had. But… had she ever really stood a chance?
"Damn it, damn it, damn it!" Murlus V cursed.
Not only had he received no word from the assassin he sent to kill that human, but the human had also managed to get engaged to the two princesses, Nana and Momo, completely cutting off his chance to join the royal family. He was furious.
"And on top of that he conquered that bitch Konjiki no Yami! Ahhh, I want to skin him alive and eat his bones!" Murlus V raged.
"Bitch? Take a look in the mirror, you disgusting old man," Dita thought.
How dare that filthy man curse her idol and romantic interest? He wasn't even worth a single shoe the famed Konjiki no Yami wore.
After cursing Akira's ancestors for a while, Murlus V calmed down a bit.
"Dita, hire every assassin you can get your hands on, immediately! Money is no object. I want that human dead as soon as possible!" Murlus V ordered.
For a moment Dita thought he had lost his mind. Hiring every assassin he could would bankrupt them!
"But sir…" Dita began.
"Do it now, bitch!" Murlus V barked.
Before Dita could protest further…
"That won't be necessary," said a voice.
The voice alarmed not only Murlus and Dita but also all the female soldiers in the hall.
"Who are you? Show yourself!" Murlus V demanded.
The voice seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere at once.
"All right, you deserve to see my face before you die," the voice said.
Suddenly a swirl of black smoke appeared in the hall and began to form a figure.
It was a female figure — a loli with waist‑length black hair tied into two small pigtails with red ribbons, dark skin, yellow eyes, almost nonexistent breasts, and a gothic lolita dress. She sat barefoot on the floor as if nothing were wrong, completely unfazed by the situation.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?! More importantly, how did you get in?!" Murlus V exclaimed.
Do you think the female soldiers were the only guards Murlus V had? No — there were numerous highly trained male soldiers protecting the castle, plus security measures that would make the most advanced surveillance system on Earth look like a child's toy. So how on earth had this woman gotten in?
"Your security, your soldiers… they're all useless. No one can locate me unless I want them to. No one can catch me unless I allow it. No one can hold me if I want to escape — not even the king. Do you know who I am, or do you need more clues?" the loli asked.
Murlus V was thoughtful; he still didn't know who she was, though her appearance seemed oddly familiar.
But Dita already knew, and she trembled.
"Sir, she is Nemesis — the assassin ranked number one on the list!" Dita exclaimed, terrified.
