Samuel, in order to prevent Nathan from winning the World Tournament, went so far as to collude with the Kingdom of Gangin and slander him.
The moment he started spreading lies about Nathan, he had already lost the right to call himself a true Pokémon Trainer.
"Going crazy? Fine, I'll show you crazy!" Samuel shouted, his eyes bloodshot with madness. "Mewtwo, use Hyper Beam and attack that man!"
Samuel pointed straight at Nathan.
Frankenstein Mewtwo clasped its strange hybrid hands together, charging a devastating Hyper Beam that surged toward Nathan.
However, before the attack could even get close, it was blocked by a psychic barrier—Mewtwo's barrier.
"Mewtwo, let them see your true strength!"
Nathan raised his hand and pulled out Mewtwo's Mega Evolution stone. In an instant, his Mewtwo underwent Mega Evolution—Mega Mewtwo X.
Once transformed, Mewtwo took on a vastly different appearance compared to the stitched-up Mewtwo.
Taller, more powerful, and exuding an overwhelming sense of might, Nathan's Mewtwo stood in stark contrast to Samuel's grotesque creation—it was like comparing the heavens to the earth.
"Mewtwo, use Teleport and combine it with a Mega Punch—attack!"
Nathan never resorted to having his Pokémon attack humans. That wasn't his way.
With a flash, Mewtwo vanished from its place and instantly reappeared behind the Frankenstein Mewtwo.
With overwhelming force, it delivered a heavy punch straight to its opponent's back, sending Frankenstein Mewtwo flying.
Yet, even though it was a stitched-together imitation, Frankenstein Mewtwo's defense was still formidable.
Mewtwo's Mega Punch didn't manage to inflict serious damage.
Frankenstein Mewtwo stabilized itself mid-air.
"Mewtwo, use Thunderbolt!" Samuel ordered, clearly shaken but not deterred.
Electricity surged from the bizarre limb protruding from the back of Frankenstein Mewtwo's head.
A blinding stream of yellow lightning burst forth, targeting Mewtwo directly.
"Mewtwo, use Double Team!"
A perfect copy of Mewtwo appeared, intercepting the Thunderbolt.
As the electric current dissipated, the clone vanished with it.
As the two Mewtwos began their intense battle, more and more people poured out of the nearby manor to witness the scene.
Among them was the boss of the Chiyou.
Nathan glanced across the gathered crowd and his eyes narrowed.
He had spotted a man surrounded by the organization's members.
The man appeared to be in his late thirties or early forties, clad in a black samurai-style uniform.
A vicious scar ran diagonally across his face, giving him a fearsome appearance.
From the moment he appeared, his gaze never left Nathan's Mewtwo—like a predator eyeing a prized prey.
It was this very man who had once ordered Mewtwo to be captured.
Back then, capturing Mewtwo had been no small feat, requiring immense effort and resources.
But after the capture, Mewtwo refused to acknowledge anyone as its trainer.
In frustration, the Chiyou had no choice but to use Mewtwo as a mere research subject.
Little did they expect that their lab would eventually be discovered and destroyed by Nathan—and that Mewtwo would become Nathan's Pokémon.
Now, seeing Mewtwo again—especially in its Mega Evolved form—the boss of the organization was filled with desire to capture it once more.
"Mewtwo, use Bubble Beam!"
Although Nathan had been momentarily distracted, Samuel showed no mercy. He continued attacking relentlessly.
Illusion-like bubbles emerged, beautiful on the surface but concealing countless lethal intentions.
The Bubble Beam unleashed by Frankenstein Mewtwo wasn't a simple beam—it was a torrent of countless bubbles that rained down indiscriminately toward Mewtwo.
"Mewtwo, use the same move to counter it!" Nathan shouted, snapping back to attention.
Mewtwo instantly released its own Bubble Beam.
The twin storms of bubbles collided mid-air, cancelling each other out.
Soon, all the bubbles disappeared, leaving only puddles of water on the ground as evidence of what had just happened.
While this exchange ended in a draw, Mega Mewtwo X's true strength lay in close-quarters combat.
"Mewtwo, use Flash to blind him, then close in and beat him down!"
Nathan wasn't going to keep playing defense. He gave his next command decisively.
A dazzling white light burst forth.
Frankenstein Mewtwo instinctively shielded its eyes, temporarily blinded.
Seizing the moment, Mewtwo lunged forward and unleashed a flurry of devastating punches.
Frankenstein Mewtwo cried out in pain and tried to fight back.
The two Mewtwos clashed again, but in terms of raw strength and combat skill, Frankenstein Mewtwo was no match.
It quickly began to fall behind.
Realizing this, Samuel tried to order his Frankenstein Mewtwo to retreat and create distance.
But Nathan wasn't about to give up the advantage.
Under his precise commands, Mewtwo clung to Frankenstein Mewtwo like a relentless shadow, striking continuously.
No matter what moves Frankenstein Mewtwo used, Nathan's Mewtwo would mirror them—responding with the exact same techniques.
It became a battle of power and speed, and the superior one was obvious.
Frankenstein Mewtwo began to show visible wounds, while Mewtwo only grew fiercer and more unstoppable—as if it had divine aid.
"Mewtwo, use Psycho Cut!"
Out of desperation, Samuel finally resorted to Psychic-type moves.
But trying to defeat Mewtwo with its own type was laughable.
Nathan's Mewtwo simply used another clone to intercept the attack.
Now, Samuel was truly out of options.
Close-range combat was a losing battle.
Long-range attacks either failed or were completely countered.
There was no longer any path to victory in this fight.
"No… impossible… why?! Why can't I win with the same Pokémon?! Why?!"
Samuel mumbled in disbelief, before shouting the last words in a crazed scream.
"Mewtwo, self-destruct! Take him with you!"
Suddenly, Samuel's eyes glinted with murderous intent. He looked directly at Nathan as he gave the command.
Frankenstein Mewtwo, obeying without hesitation, abandoned its battle with Nathan's Mewtwo and charged toward Nathan.
Nathan was in danger.
Pokémon battles might look intense, but Pokémon had incredibly tough bodies.
Mewtwo, in particular, boasted extremely high special defense.
But Nathan was just a human.
Even if he had learned some psychic abilities, he still had a mortal body.
If he was caught in a self-destruction attack, the consequences would be dire—perhaps fatal.
Frankenstein Mewtwo drew closer by the second.
Nathan's Mewtwo panicked.
This was the man who had saved it. The one it now saw as family.
How could it possibly allow Frankenstein Mewtwo to get anywhere near him?
In a flash, Mewtwo teleported in front of Frankenstein Mewtwo.
With powerful arms, it seized its enemy and hurled it away with immense force.
"Are you an idiot?! Just teleport directly to him!" Samuel screamed.
Frankenstein Mewtwo, now airborne, immediately teleported—reappearing right next to Nathan.
Its body began to glow violently.
The crisis was here.
Without a moment's hesitation, Nathan's Mewtwo followed, teleporting to his side.
It immediately raised a psychic barrier.
The self-destruct was already initiated—there was no time to stop it.
Only total obliteration could prevent the explosion.
Nathan's other Pokémon also reacted instantly—Volcarona, Frosmoth, and others—casting every defensive move they had:
Safeguard, Aurora Veil...
BOOM!
A thunderous explosion erupted.
Nathan and Mewtwo were engulfed in the blast.
Samuel stared in shock for a second—then burst into laughter.
"So, this is the so-called World Champion? Didn't he still end up dying at my hands?"
"Nathan, I don't care how strong your Pokémon are! If you're dead, what does it matter?!"
"From now on, I—am the true World Champion!"
Samuel's crazed voice echoed as he laughed maniacally.
But the sight of their beloved trainer in danger triggered something in Nathan's Pokémon.
They snapped.
Volcarona's flames erupted into a blazing inferno and surged toward Samuel.
Frosmoth fired a beam of freezing cold straight at him.
Zeraora, Pangoro, Metagross...
The rest of the Chiyou members, realizing what was happening, didn't hesitate.
They fled from Samuel as fast as they could.
Because right now—he had become the target of a furious, unstoppable storm.
