Chapter 187 - The Heart That Brought Him Back

The island felt different. Not because of the sun, not because of the sea, but because he was walking again, and this time, not alone. His hand held hers gently, not as a protector or a leader, but as a man who had just realized what it meant to have something he could lose. Sophia walked slowly beside him, her other hand resting lightly on her belly. He didn't speak much, his eyes on her more than the path, noticing every breath, every pause, every faint smile, and in his silence, she felt safe. They reached the center garden, where the wind moved softly between the trees, and he stopped, looking at the flowers. "I fought evil… but never knew how soft this world could be," he said quietly. She chuckled. "Now you know why I kept pulling you back." He turned his gaze to her. "And I'll never run again." She rested her head against his shoulder.

From the upper balcony, his brothers watched. Rayyan crossed his arms. "He's finally back." Amir smiled. "Not the god… not the storm…" Malik added, "Just… our brother." Baba stood beside them, his voice low. "Let him have this moment. The world will ask for him again. And when it does… he'll give more than ever." Sara whispered, "He's changed. Not weaker… stronger than ever. Because now he has something to protect."

That night, in their room, Sophia lay back slowly and he placed a warm cloth on her forehead. She smiled. "You know you don't have to do this every time." "Yes I do," he replied. Sitting beside her, he placed his hand over her stomach. "This children… is not just our future. It's my peace. My purpose." He leaned down, kissed her forehead, and whispered, "No matter what comes… I will not lose either of you."

Outside, the moon hung low, the trees were still, and the stars blinked softly. Inside, he stood at the window without his mask, without his sword, only as a man, but behind his eyes the storm waited, patient and unshaken. Peace was beautiful… but it would not last. He had come back for his children, he had returned for love, but soon the world would remember — he was still a god. And gods don't sleep forever.
