Chapter 14 - Chapter 13 Kidnapped

Jack and Kristy pulled into the parking lot of their house. They had been dreading coming back knowing what they were going to have to do. First they'd have to do more research on the old orphanage if there was any to be had. Given the fact that they were chipped and practically tortured while there was reason to believe enough that it wasn't technically something that existed.

They got out of the car and went to the house. In other ways it was good to be home. They had talked about whether or not he should go back to work. Give their entire attention to finding out who these people were and what they wanted. Ultimately came to the conclusion that he should continue to go to work like they were none the wiser. They had to know Jack was at least somewhat on to them, but as long as they believed they didn't care, then maybe they would give them a little room to sniff about.

After getting inside they both plopped down on the couch. Jack put his arm up around the back of it and Kristy brought her head to rest on his shoulder. He let his arm fall around her and pulled her close. Kissing her on the head he let silence engulf them for a moment. Letting the weight of what was to come to weigh on them.

Finally feeling like he let the feeling dwell enough he turned the television on and started flipping through for something to watch. He settled on a rerun of Supernatural. It had just picked up in season two and ran on through the whole seventeen. It would be awhile before they fell asleep, so they just sat and watched the show for a few episodes.

Realization that he had forgotten to get the mail that had been collecting since they had left. He go up and told Kristy. "I'll be right back. I forgot to get the mail. I'm sure it's overflowing by now."

"Alright." She said as she pulled the curtains back to watch as he went to get it.

He noticed that Kristy was more cautious about everything. She made sure to watch his back, which did make him feel better about the whole thing. Jack knew that she was doing her best to hide it because he could tell that she wanted to go with him to better be there for him. In turn that he would also be able to be there for her in an instant.

Jack turned to her at the end of the driveway before crossing over. Smiling and waving before spinning around to check traffic and go to the mailbox. Opening it up there wasn't a lot in there. Just some junk mail about being pre-approved for a loan or credit card. He shuffled through them on the side of the road and came across only one that held any interest to him. It was from a name and address he wasn't familiar with. At that it was from Nevada.

Jack looked up to see Kristy still looking at him. She had a worried look so he headed back over. Up to the porch and then to the door he went. Getting inside he looked down at her on the couch. "I'm okay see. Nothing to worry about." He said with a compassionate smile.

She took a shaky breath and sighed it out. "I know. It still doesn't put me at ease being away from each other."

"I know." He put his hand to her face and stroked her cheek with his thumb,

Kristy was stunning. He lingered that way for a little longer as he cherished each second. Almost trying to memorize every detail of her face. Not that he didn't already have it memorized, but that wasn't the point.

"So now that we're four episodes into Supernatural and we've broken the silence… What do you think we should do now?" Jack said finally withdrawing his hand from her face and going around the couch to sit with her.

"I don't have a clue Jack and you know that. You're the plan guy. I just kind of follow your lead." She said with a wink. "But only in planning things. Obviously in everything else I lead."

Jack laughed from his belly. "If you say so my love." With a little more seriousness he added. "I think we need to go back to the orphanage and look for clues there. I know we just got back and I need to work, but after some time looking up where it was and how to get there, I'll put in some more vacation time so we can head that way."

She didn't respond right away. He knew the wheels were turning and the thought of going back to the orphanage scared her. Regardless of her age and how long it had been, everything that happened there still felt like just yesterday to her when reflecting. Jack knew this, but also knew it was the only way they could get to the bottom of this. Jack knew the answer already but he said it anyways. "If you want I can go alone. I know how the place still haunts you."

"No." Kristy said immediately. "I will go with you. I won't like any of it, but I'll go. I won't stay here alone, nor will I leave you alone."

Jack smiled at her. "Okay." Is all he said.

Kristy took a breath and looked at her phone. The clock on it said midnight. She looked up at him, "We should probably get you to bed. Otherwise you're gonna be tired and cranky for the guys at work tomorrow." She let a sly smile play across her face.

"Yeah, yeah. And I don't get cranky." He said trying to give her a mean look.

They both got up and walked to the master bathroom to start getting ready for bed. Jack got done first and gave her a pat on the butt and laid down in bed. When she got done she dove on top of him from the bathroom slamming her body to his. Jack let out an, "Ooof", as he wrapped his arms around her. They passionately kissed each other on the lips and held each other tight. She slipped down his body enough to put her head on his chest and that's how they fell asleep. On top of the covers, one on top of the other.

 ...............................................................................

It took them long enough to finally fall asleep. They had gotten there just after the car pulled into the driveway. Rick and Renee were told to scout ahead before reaching out to Wayne. Wayne was different. They could sense the extra demons and power in him. They were jealous of the power that flowed through him. Envied him. Though at the cost of their freedom. Leviathon was not one to trifle with, and to be bound to him the way Wayne was. It sent chills down their spines. The demons within them were always subject to obey the master, but to be subject to another demon that was once angel… Even they cringed at the thought.

They sensed out Wayne through the hive mind and told them they were ready for phase one of their mission. They… Because Wayne was no longer just one but several demons. It was hard for their human minds to grasp, but the demons within helped them to grasp the concept, so as to not make a mistake and get them both obliterated into the abyss of hell.

A moment later Wayne was standing behind them. They turned to see him and saw nothing of what Wayne used to be. He had black veins that bulged through his body. His eyes to match the veins were also black. He looked like something that walked out of a horror movie. Though he looked monstrous, he still looked to be competent enough to do the mission. At least that's what the demons were telling them in their heads. So be it.

Wayne spoke in a low, unearthly growl, "Move in."

Rick and Renee grabbed the drugs to knock out Jack and Kristy. They had loaded the drug into darts so they could shoot them from a distance. It was less likely that they would be detected from the living room than the bedside. Not impossible though. The only reason they didn't think they could sense them from even where they were was because they made no action to look to where they were at. For all they knew they did sense them and there was a trap waiting for them when they got in there. They were going have to be super quiet and quick.

The demons weren't going to tolerate failure. So if Leviathon didn't get ahold of them for their lack of ability, then Wayne certainly would. They teleported into the house. Having studied the layout while Jack and Kristy were away, they knew where stuff was and wouldn't teleport somewhere inconvenient. They all had their fair share of using that ability and ending up somewhere they didn't mean to. Limbs had been cut in half to whole bodies. Thankfully the demons within gave them the ability to heal from things like that. Not to mention to the extent to not feel pain at all. It definitely came as a shock when losing an extremity, but at least it never hurt.

Going towards the bedroom trying to get a line of sight, it didn't seem like any traps had been set. Meaning they were free to carry on their mission without delay. Dart guns trained on Kristy they fired two shots at her thigh. Then in quick succession another two at Jack's exposed calf.

Kristy rolled off Jack and Jack sat up almost as soon as the darts hit their mark. Jack made to get up, but as soon as his foot touched the ground he fell to the floor unconscious. Kristy had exerted all she had trying to roll onto the other side of the bed. Not even making it off of it.

Looking satisfied, Wayne held onto both of them as he teleported back to the hideout. Rick and Renee teleported not long after. They wondered if this course of action was actually in their best interests. The demons within had the same concerns, but they would their tongue. They were in no place to question their leaders.

When they got their Jonah, Eric, and Alec had already begun strapping them up to the chairs in the pitch black rooms. It all felt too easy, but the easy days did come. Just few and far between.

Knowing what they know now, they would already be able to see each other in the dark. Separating them from each other would at least take care of that. Making it to where they wouldn't be able to hear each other scream took a little more thought. They had taken sound dampening foam and applied it all over the rooms. Heavy Metal also blasted in the hallways between the two rooms which were also insulated with sound dampening foam. Didn't want the neighborhood snooping around or filing noise complaints.

Without the chips it was going to be even trickier. They had the drugs to keep them out of their wits, and they also didn't know that they couldn't kill them without losing faith in themselves and God. This they were going to use to their advantage.
