Chapter 17 - Trial of the Shatterpoint

I stood quietly before the arch door, my hands slightly trembling from nervousness. My friends watched in silence. I just smiled at them, gently, without words.

"It's my turn now, I'm gonna finish this, an treat us all to something special when we are done." I said softly.

Anakin gripped my shoulder. "You better."

The arch door then opened up and I stepped in to the dark room. As the door behind me closed, The room became dark and lightless. I couldn't see a thing, until I walked and saw a mirror Infront of me.

Then I noticed multiple reflections, not on walls, but floating mid-air, each translucent, showing a reflection of me. What I noticed first was my Golden yellow eyes reflecting back at me. Then the reflections began to talk:

"I have to save the galaxy from the Sith."

"I must become stronger, or I will lose"

"This isn't me, My name isn't Cain I'm..."

I collapsed to one knee. More reflections kept appearing around me. They got louder and louder.

"Nice try but this won't work on." I stood up again, I closed my eyes and breathed in deeply. As I exhaled I opened my eyes. Then I saw the cracks in the reflection, but I saw more then that. I thought I saw the same force lights around me. Several l lights to the of the room. It looked like Plo, Yoda, and others. While In front of me I saw one I didn't recognize.

I don't know how I'm able to see the Force lights without being in that void world, but that's a question for later. I centered my body, and began to strike the reflections around me. I don't know if that was my trial, but I am following my instincts.

As the reflections of me begin to shatter one after one, I felt like my body was becoming lighter and lighter. I began to strike in measured precision, each technique and movement flowed into each other. All I heard was the sound of glass breaking around me, as found one reflection that didn't have a shatterpoint.

The reflection looked like older version of me. Tall and muscular. His silver white hair was in dreads locks and, pulled back into a ponytail with shaved sides. He wore black and gray robes with spots of armor around my body. His eyes seemed so intense.

"You could change everything," the older Cain said. "What your doing is not enough. Darth Sidious, the Clone Wars, the Vong… Abeloth. Your not doing nearly enough. You need the conviction."

"To do what?" I asked. I was confused was this a trial or a Force Vision?

The reflection put his hand up like he was touching the other side of the reflection. "To become something more even if you have to lose who you were before you came here."

Then cracks appeared where the reflections hand was, then the image shattered.

Behind the reflection was a tall older woman. I recognized her face immediately. Master An'ya Kuro.

I bowed respectfully. "Greetings master Kuro, it is good to meet you."

Kuro just stared at me with curiosity. "I did not know that we met youngling?"

"No master we have not formally met. I have seen some of your lessons on holo recordings." Which is technically is true. I never expected to meet the Dark Lady like this.

"Youngling Cain, how do you feel?"

"I feel fine master, what do you?"

'"What I mean is, you seem shaken from your trial, I couldn't hear what those reflection said. I could only see you shatter them, and feel your emotions."

I then looked at the reflecting image on the wall that shows me and Master Kuro. "What about you Master's do you want to know to?"

"Do you see beyond the wall youngling?"

"No master. I cant see beyond the wall, but I can sense others in the Force." As I looked at Kuro I saw a small flickering Force light in her. It was like a Amethyst pink. It was calm yet fierce.

"Is that all you see?"

"No master, I also see cracks from time to time when I focus hard enough."

"Cracks?"

"Yes Master, I guess you can call them fractures. I see them in walls and objects." I said.

I knew that Mace Windu, was probably watching me. If he didn't already know about me seeing shatterpoints, then he could help teach how to use them.

"I see young one. You are quite gifted indeed. I knew you were special from the day I found you."

Wait! What did she just say? Found me?

"Master Kuro, are you the one who found me all those years ago?"

Kuro nodded. "Yes youngling Cain, I all those years ago."

Okay now this is some new maybe I can get some more details from her about this bodies background.

"Master would you mind telling me where I come from or if my parent's are alive?"

Kuro looked at me with a curious expression on her face. "Why do you want to know this Cain? Do you wish to seek out your Family and develop a connection with them. The Jedi council do not normally allow this out of fear of attachments."

I nodded. "I understand that master, but I just want to know my history and my people. I want to know where I come from. An respectfully I don't care what the councils says. I am allowed to know of my family. Me knowing my family history doesn't not mean I will form a attachment. If they allow Corellian Jedi to come an go from the order, then that's my business."

Kuro eyes looked at the reflective wall then back at me. "Mind your words youngling Cain you could lose your opportunity to become a padawan with those words."

I smirked. "Master I appreciate the advice. But don't worry I follow the will of the force not the Jedi. If I must I will walk away from the order."

Kuro just smirk. "Well said youngling. Fine we will talk about this later, I promise. Go back out and be with the others."

I bowed before turning to leave. "Thank you Master." The I turned to the reflective wall. "Thank you for your time Master's."

Watch me close Master's, I will show you a better path and if you don't agree I will elave and start over. I don't know what was going with the future version of me. But with the Force nothing is black and white. I need to start to tap into the Living and Cosmic Force more deeply. An for that I need the right teacher.

Back in Private room, the masters joined by An'ya Kuro deliberate.

She stepped forward to the central circle.

Yoda asked, "Thank for your help in these special trials Master Kuro."

Kuro nodded slowly. "I was happy to be of help Master Yoda."

Windu looked puzzled. "What do you make of the five?"

Kuro's lips curled into a rare smile.

"All five are unique in a different way. But when they are together it's like they resonate with each other. I guess you could call it something close to a Force bond but something much different. Either way in my opinion they all passed."

Plo Koon exhaled slowly. "I agree with Master Kuro. They are stronger together, and I see Cain in the center of the connection along with Skywalker."

Windu nodded. "Yes it seems like we need to keep a closer eye on them. They seem to want to change things around the temple, but we must remind that certain rules are in place for a reason. But At the same time guide them to their truest potential for the future."

The other master's nodded.

When I returned everyone gathered around me.

"So how was it?" Derren asked.

I smirked. "It was fine really eye opening, but nothing I couldn't handle."

That's when the masters all stepped out of a adjacent room.

"Youngling come around us, you gather." Mater Yoda said.

We gathered around Yoda, all a little nervous to here the result of our trials.

"Pass you all have done. Proud of you I am."

We all smiled with happiness in our hearts. After that the masters then gathered us together to make out Padawan braids.

Then some Jedi knights and masters entered the room. Obi-wan kenobi, Luminara Undulli, Quinlan Vos, Fay, Shaak Ti. An'ya Kuro, Plo Koon, Mace Windu,

"You will now be selected by the knights and masters here, for your Padawans ship." Yoda gestured to the masters to the side.

Now here comes the moment of truth. I had an idea for my ideal future Master, but getting the one I want will be a different story. I guess this will be the next step in my path forward.
