The next second, Kevin stood up. He was about to say something, but then some noise came from the kitchen.
Jessie's expression changed immediately. She exclaimed, "Oh no!" and quickly ran back to the kitchen while saying, "My pot!"
She had been so deep in thought that she completely forgot about the pot in the kitchen. He hurriedly followed her, only to see Jessie quickly turning off the stove. Unfortunately, she still accidentally burned her fingers on the pot.
Jessie let out a slightly bitter smile. "I'm sorry, Mr. Harper; it seems like we won't be having noodles tonight. I'll make them for you tomorrow morning instead."
Kevin's eyes fell on her reddened fingers. He turned around to get the first-aid kit and made her sit in the living room while he treated her wound.
Her heart felt warm, but before she could thank him, Kevin finished treating the burn and headed back to his room.
For a moment, she didn’t know if he was angry at her or not.
