Across all fronts of the battlefield, several coffins suddenly erupted from the ground and burst open. From within stepped figures—some familiar, some not—leaving every member of the Allied Shinobi Forces wide-eyed with shock.
Seeing these powerful Edo Tensei shinobi appear, a chill ran through the hearts of the Allied Forces.
On the eastern front, the Raikage clenched his teeth as he stared at the Third Raikage standing before him.
"Damn it... Even my father's been summoned?"
The Third Raikage looked at his son—familiar yet changed—and gave a faint smile.
"Son, I didn't expect we'd meet like this. But now... I need you to stop me."
Nearby, Hidan charged at the enemy, screaming, no longer under Kabuto's control.
"Even without pain, I'll offer all of you to Lord Jashin!"
Kakuzu, freshly resurrected, casually ripped a heart from the chest of a fallen shinobi beneath his feet.
"I wonder if Pain and the others are putting the money I left behind to good use..."
Had Hyuga Gakuya been there to hear that, he would have proudly declared,
"Don't worry, I've been putting it to great use. I didn't let that spendthrift Konan waste a single ryo."
Other fronts faced similarly dire situations. The appearance of these revived shinobi shattered the balance of the battlefield. The once stable frontlines were now crumbling in an instant.
Only a handful of elite shinobi were left to barely hold the line.
...
In the command center, Hyuga Gakuya received another urgent message from the sensory division.
"Eastern front—enemy sighted..."
"Western front as well..."
Reinforcement requests flooded in from all directions. But Gakuya had no more troops to spare. Every available unit had already been deployed.
Even Tsunade, a medical-nin, had been sent to the front lines. Not a single Kage-level fighter remained in reserve.
According to the battle plan, Gakuya still needed to confront Madara Uchiha. He had to conserve his strength.
"Have them focus their efforts on implanting Orochimaru's control tags into the enemy. We need to restore their original consciousness. But make sure they prioritize the most powerful shinobi from the Five Great Nations—ideally, the former Kage. We need game-changers." Gakuya's voice was calm but firm.
"Yes, sir!" The communication team immediately relayed his orders.
...
On the battlefield, the Allied Forces moved to execute Gakuya's command—trying to use Orochimaru's control tags on the most formidable Edo Tensei shinobi.
But the task was far from easy. These undead shinobi were overwhelmingly strong and relentlessly aggressive. Approaching them was a challenge in itself.
On the eastern front, the Raikage desperately blocked blow after blow from the Third Raikage while searching for an opening to plant the tag. But the sheer ferocity of his father's attacks made it nearly impossible to get close.
To the south, Mizukage Mei Terumi was locked in a stalemate with Gengetsu Hozuki. She attempted to reach Chiyo in the hopes of restoring her mind, but Gengetsu's Water Release techniques constantly disrupted her movements.
On the western front, Tsuchikage Ōnoki was airborne, maneuvering around Mū, looking for the slightest chance to strike with the tag. But Mū's defenses held firm.
In the north, Gaara faced his father, Rasa, with a storm of emotions swirling inside him. Still, his resolve never wavered—he was determined to bring his father back to his senses.
Their first targets were, of course, the four former Kage. The Allied Forces hoped to turn them against the other Edo Tensei: Deidara, Sasori, Chiyo, and the rest.
...
A fifth front had just been established, where the Konoha reinforcements clashed directly with a wave of powerful Edo Tensei shinobi—resurrected legends of Konoha.
Tsunade stood trembling, staring at the figures before her: Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju.
"Grandpa... Uncle..."
Behind her stood Jiraiya, Kakashi, Shibi Aburame, Chōza Akimichi, and other elite shinobi from Konoha.
And across from them—the resurrected titans of the village: the Senju brothers, Minato Namikaze, Hiruzen Sarutobi, and Sakumo Hatake. Five Kage-level powerhouses.
Hashirama gazed at the group before him, his eyes filled with warmth.
"Tsunade... and the shinobi of Konoha. I never imagined I'd meet the new generation like this."
Tobirama's expression was stern.
"Tsunade, don't hesitate. Strike. The enemy summoned us to control us—we only have about thirty percent of our original strength. I believe in you all."
Tears welled up in Tsunade's eyes as she clenched her fists.
"I... I can't bring myself to fight you...!"
For a moment, she wasn't the Hokage, but once again the young girl who gambled away her savings and memories.
Tobirama's voice boomed.
"Tsunade! You are the Hokage of Konoha—put the village first!"
Tsunade's hands trembled, but she gritted her teeth.
"But..."
Hashirama gave a soft smile.
"Tsunade, we trust you to make the right choice."
She took a deep breath, forcing down her grief.
"Grandpa... Uncle... Forgive me!"
...
Kakashi stood still, staring at the familiar yet distant figure before him—Sakumo Hatake. His eyes were full of conflicting emotions.
His lips trembled.
"Father... I didn't expect to see you again so soon."
He meant "again" quite literally—they had already reunited briefly in the Pure Land during the recent invasion of Konoha.
Sakumo's gaze was sharp as always, yet underneath it was a hidden tenderness.
"Kakashi, come. Don't hold back."
Kakashi gripped his short blade tightly and spoke with difficulty.
"Then please... judge my training once more."
Sakumo gave a small nod of approval.
"You truly are my son."
Kakashi inhaled deeply, a firm resolve burning in his eyes. He tucked a control tag inside his vest.
"Father, I'll bring you back to your senses."
With that, he vanished in a blur of motion, charging toward Sakumo. The elder Hatake met him head-on, blades clashing with a burst of sparks.
...
Tsunade exhaled slowly, forming hand seals. She released the Yin Seal on her forehead, unleashing a torrent of chakra, then charged at Hashirama.
Hashirama smiled as he casually blocked her blow.
"Tsunade, you still don't have enough power."
But there was no malice in his eyes.
Nearby, Jiraiya entered Sage Mode and engaged Tobirama in a fierce ninjutsu battle.
"Forgive me, Lord Tobirama—Fire Release: Flame Bomb!"
A searing blast of fire erupted from his mouth, hurtling toward Tobirama.
The Second Hokage, seeing the two toads perched on Jiraiya's shoulders, gave a rare look of approval.
"Sage Mode from Mount Myōboku... Konoha really has raised worthy successors."
His hands blurred into seals.
"Water Release: Water Formation Wall!"
A towering wall of water surged up, extinguishing the flames mid-air.
The clash of fire and water generated a thick mist that blanketed the battlefield. Jiraiya leapt into the fog, a massive Rasengan forming in his hands—Sage Art: Super Giant Rasengan—hurling it at Tobirama with all his might.
"Earth Release: Earth Flow Wall!" Tobirama quickly erected a wall of stone to intercept the attack.
But the Rasengan tore through the wall like paper. Tobirama teleported using the Flying Thunder God Technique, letting the Rasengan slam harmlessly into the ground, leaving a massive crater.
"Hmph. Impressive as ever, Lord Tobirama," Jiraiya muttered, panting.
Tobirama gave him a warning glance.
"Stay alert."
Then his hands formed seals again.
"Infinite Darkness Jutsu!"
Suddenly, the world around them was swallowed in pitch blackness. Jiraiya's vision was completely obscured.
But he didn't panic. Calming himself, he relied on his sensory perception in Sage Mode to navigate the darkness.
...
Elsewhere, Might Guy, Chōza Akimichi, and Hayate Gekkō surrounded Hiruzen Sarutobi, engaging him in coordinated attacks.
Together, they managed to tie the Third Hokage down—if only for a moment.
