Chapter 248: This is the Treasure! A Million Galleons!
Looking around, the bronze candelabra at the entrance ignited with a moon-white flame the moment he stepped inside. The palace's dome was a celestial mural, much like the one on the ceiling of the Hogwarts Great Hall.
The stars and constellations were perfectly clear in the candlelight. The twenty-eight star mansions even formed an eagle-like pattern, looking as if it was about to take flight in the Milky Way.
In the center of the main hall, a giant hourglass woven from crystal chains hung suspended. The flowing sand glowed with a mysterious silver-purple luster. Dylan walked a few steps forward, his gaze fixed on the giant hourglass.
"What is this for?"
Dylan felt that every single grain of sand was extraordinary. It was as if someone had sealed extremely tiny spells within each grain. The spells made each grain of sand unique, and they clearly had some unknown purpose.
Dylan's eyes swept to the side. On a long table made of moonstone, hundreds of glowing parchment scrolls were neatly arranged, one after another. These scrolls seemed to be the knowledge scrolls left behind by Ravenclaw.
"Instead of a bookshelf, they're just placed on a table?"
Dylan casually picked up one. As he unrolled the parchment, he was surprised to find that the ink was not arranged in any discernable text, but as he unrolled it, the ink rearranged itself.
"Oh?"
Looking at the words on the parchment, Dylan couldn't help but raise his eyebrows.
"Knowledge is a Cage?"
Just the title immediately piqued Dylan's interest. This appeared to be one of Ravenclaw's manuscripts, and a paradoxical one at that. It detailed Ravenclaw's thoughts and reflections on whether wisdom would lead wizards to freedom or ultimately trap them within knowledge. The content was interesting even after a thousand years. As Dylan read, he didn't want to put the parchment down.
A moment later, Dylan still decided not to finish the manuscript. There were many parchments here. He could read them anytime. The most important thing right now was to pack everything up and take it with him.
"Looks like I'll have to do a lot of reading."
With a wave of his hand, Dylan sent the parchment in his hand and all the others on the long table into his system panel space. He wasn't sure if he could take the entire palace with him, but if not, at least he would take everything inside. He would dig to the bottom and not even leave a single tile.
After Dylan put away all the parchments, he looked at the long table again. Now, without the stack of parchments, a magical artifact in the corner was revealed.
"An orrery?"
Dylan walked over, picked it up, and moved it back and forth. It was a miniature orrery made of magical metal. Even after all this time, the artifact was still working. The orbits of the planets seemed to be moving according to the real laws of the universe. Perhaps to make it more realistic, tiny golden sparks would occasionally burst from the orrery.
"Is this hourglass something Ravenclaw used for a countdown?"
After casually putting away the orrery, Dylan turned to look at the giant hourglass beside him. This must also be a magical artifact. Dylan felt a strong magical fluctuation from it. It was clear that, like the orrery, this hourglass could still be used even after being stored for so long.
However, Dylan didn't try to take the hourglass with him—it seemed to be welded to the ground. Dylan planned to see if he could take the entire palace first. In the meantime, he would take some of the smaller, scattered items, like the parchments. For items that were almost one with the palace, Dylan decided to leave them here for now. If it didn't work out in the end, he would just dismantle them and take them with him.
Passing through the main hall, Dylan walked straight ahead. He pushed open the door and entered. The candlelight streamed in through the crack, and the contents inside instantly gave a more enthusiastic response. Golden light streamed out, hurting Dylan's eyes a bit. But he didn't squint; instead, he widened his eyes, looking inside the room.
Inside, Galleons were piled up like a mountain. The coins looked like a waterfall of molten gold, spilling from the corner of the room to the doorstep. Under the candlelight, they reflected a dazzling halo. Even the air seemed to be tinged with a flowing amber color.
This room seemed to have been modified by a spell. Not only was the floor covered in what looked like flowing coins, but below the crystal chandelier on the ceiling, a cluster of suspended diamond rain hung. The diamonds floated in strings, looking like a curtain of jewels.
"These diamonds..."
Dylan looked at them and could tell at a glance that they weren't just ordinary diamonds. They were magical materials with magical properties that could be used for magical experiments.
"Excellent!"
Dylan's eyes lit up, and then they lit up again. This was more like Ravenclaw's treasure! Although Ravenclaw symbolized wisdom, whether it was the parchment scrolls containing knowledge or the laboratory, the most important thing was that without financial support, how could she research so many things?
Looking at the coins that almost filled the entire room, and the diamond rain that was wrapped in mist and kept falling, Dylan smiled with satisfaction.
"This mist seems to be a spell that protects and even nourishes these diamond materials."
What a brilliant idea. Magical materials needed to be stored properly. If left for too long, the magic within the materials could gradually dissipate, causing their magical properties to decline. Such materials would only make research less effective, or have a significant impact when used in any other way. After all, the purity of the material was no longer pure. It would be strange if there was no impact.
Dylan stepped into the room. Instantly, a series of crisp clinking sounds followed.
Dylan looked at the center of the room. It seemed that something had originally been held up by the coins, because the coins there formed an open hand, as if a hand was holding something.
Dylan clicked his tongue. "Could the thing that was originally held there be Ravenclaw's diadem?"
That doesn't seem right either! He had never heard that Ravenclaw had hidden her diadem. It was a relic, and it had been collected by someone later. Would Ravenclaw specially build a treasure palace just to hide her diadem?
Dylan felt that this palace, rather than being Ravenclaw's treasure, was more like an experimental site she had once used. After all, wizards at a high level basically had their own laboratories. For a wizard of Ravenclaw's level, this was even more true. Therefore, Dylan felt that it could be called a treasure, especially for a young wizard of a later generation. To be able to have such a well-equipped laboratory from a predecessor, with plenty of coins and magical materials, it was not an exaggeration to call it a treasure. But compared to a treasure in the true sense, or what Dylan had imagined, there was still a difference.
Dylan's imagined Ravenclaw treasure should have been more mysterious. It shouldn't have been just a laboratory.
"Oh well, it's good to be content."
With a gentle wave of his hand, the piled-up Galleons first trembled slightly. Then, the entire mountain of gold disintegrated! All the coins broke free from gravity and hovered in the air like a golden mist. Countless coins collided with each other, creating a crisp clinking sound that was endless. Finally, like a golden waterfall, they flowed upward, forming a rotating golden pillar of light that converged in Dylan's palm.
At this moment, Dylan felt countless chimes ringing in his mind.
Ding, 10,000 Galleons have been added to your money pouch!
Ding, 50,000 Galleons have been added to your money pouch!
Ding, 100,000 Galleons have been added to your money pouch!
Ding ding ding ding ding!
Until the last coin fell into Dylan's palm, he was completely satisfied. Then he glanced at his system panel.

When Dylan saw that his Galleons had jumped from around three hundred thousand to over one million in the money section, he was overcome with a wave of ecstasy!
So much money? He had been too naive before. This was definitely the most authentic and pure Ravenclaw treasure! If anyone said this wasn't a treasure, he would fight them!
He had originally estimated that there would only be a few hundred thousand Galleons here at most. He never expected there to be nearly a million! He was rich now. His space could be expanded by a lot! He could also unlock several new world features! Or he could unlock hundreds of characteristic quests for his spells!
"I haven't been completing my spell characteristics recently, but now that I have money, I can consider whether to unlock new characteristic quests for a few spells."
Before, he had no money, and secondly, he preferred to learn more types of spells rather than making the existing ones stronger. Of course, the main reason was that he didn't have money. Even though his dad was always thinking of ways to make money for him, he had almost reached a bottleneck now. Money couldn't flow to him infinitely. So Dylan had put his thoughts of unlocking spell characteristics on hold for a while.
However, now that he had money, Dylan's thoughts became active again.
No wonder the old saying goes, "When a man has money, his thoughts turn to spending!" Of course, Dylan's "spending" mainly referred to how he would spend the money, not on other people.
Dylan walked around the entire palace twice. There were no other items. The palace was basically divided into three parts. The first part was the main hall where the parchments were stored. The second part was, of course, the laboratory.
As for the third part, it was a secret chamber for storing Galleons and various magical materials. As for the second floor, they were all rooms for accommodation. There was nothing to talk about there; Dylan walked around a few times and didn't find anything of value.
He wandered around, collected most of the scattered items in the palace, and then walked out.
