"Kai, you're finally back," Uchiha Shisui said, appearing before Kai. "My uncle and Itachi are in the elders' hands. Please don't act rashly."
Kai had already noticed the elders and Fugaku's predicament. His gaze met Uchiha Hi's.
"Heh, Kai, we meet again," Uchiha Elder said, a sly smile playing on his lips. Kai's seating area was only a dozen meters from the Uchiha's, highlighting their marginalized position.
"Elder, let me bring him back," Uchiha Ishi said, his expression darkening as he approached Kai.
Ambition was ever-present, especially with power. He wanted more than the position of clan head. While he knew it was a long shot, humiliating Kai and reminding him of his place wouldn't hurt.
A playful smile touched his lips as he approached Kai. Uchiha Shisui, sensing Ishi's intentions, whispered, "Kai, no matter what, restrain yourself. We'll handle it."
"Oh?" Kai chuckled. "You already have a plan? That's good news."
Before Shisui could respond, Ishi arrived.
"Uchiha Kai, you're finally back. The elders request your presence," Ishi said, a mocking smile on his face.
"By the way, I'm the Uchiha clan head now. Call me Ishi-sama. And if you want Fugaku and Itachi safe, cooperate. Otherwise, don't blame me."
Ishi reached out to pat Kai's face, believing this would be a great humiliation in front of Konoha.
But before his hand landed, lightning flashed. Blood spurted as Ishi's head flew off, shocking everyone.
Ishi's eyes widened in disbelief. He found himself in a dizzying world, his headless body standing where he'd been. Kai had killed him without a word.
Boom!
Ishi's head landed heavily, splattering blood, sending shockwaves through the audience.
Madness! This was a Hokage election, not a battlefield.
"Kai, what are you doing?!" Shisui exclaimed, his face contorting with shock. He'd anticipated defiance but not murder.
"Nothing," Kai said calmly. "I just hate it when people are disrespectful. Saves me the trouble of playing nice."
Kai turned to the three Uchiha elders. "Do you think they're sufficient leverage?"
Wrong!
Kai's words hung in the air like a death knell. Lightning crackled around him. In a flash, he appeared before Uchiha Eder.
"Attack! Don't hold back!" Uchiha Elder roared, his face contorting in disbelief. His plan had completely derailed.
"Forbidden Jutsu: Sealing Fire Seal!"
Five Uchiha ninjas formed hand seals, conjuring five fire serpents that shot towards Kai. But a crimson chakra barrier, formed by the swirling nine-tomoe Sharingan, stopped them. Kai transformed into a Susano'o.
The sudden display shocked everyone. The outside world knew of the Uchiha clan leadership change and Fugaku's confinement, assuming internal conflict.
No one expected Kai's swift and brutal solution.
"Nine-Tomoe Sharingan!" the Hyūga elder exclaimed. "The powerful dōjutsu only Uchiha Madara possessed?"
"We've heard of it, but seeing it is shocking. How will Hi respond?"
The elders watched with bated breath as the five Uchiha ninjas attempted to restrain Kai with a sealing jutsu.
Uchiha Elder and the others retreated, creating distance. Uchiha Elder formed hand seals, roaring, "Attack!"
Dozens of Uchiha activated their Sharingan—three-tomoe, two-tomoe, and Elder's three-tomoe Mangekyō Sharingan. This suggested unknown Uchiha history in the decades since Madara. The single Mangekyō was intriguing.
"Genjutsu: Overlapping Space!" Uchiha Elder roared.
The Uchiha's Sharingan synchronized, transforming into three-tomoe Mangekyō Sharingan.
A powerful genjutsu wave crashed towards Kai.
Inoichi Yamanaka now!" Uchiha Elder yelled. Kai's actions had ruined his plan.
His only hope was to use this genjutsu, amplified by the Uchiha's Sharingan, to rewrite Kai's memories and turn him into a puppet.
It was similar to Shisui's technique.
