ROAR!
A ferocious roar, echoing like thunder, seemed to answer the Three-Tails' taunts. Faced with this, the Three-Tails, still in its ninken form, lowered its head before letting out a deafening roar of its own.
ROAR!
The sound unleashed a torrent of chakra from the Three-Tails, erupting like a volcanic eruption. A powerful shockwave swept across the land, raising a massive sandstorm.
The sudden display sent a wave of fear through everyone.
The Two-Tails alone had been overwhelming; now, the Three-Tails and Four-Tails had appeared. A full-scale battle could easily destroy Kumogakure.
"You bitch, don't act tough in front of the Boss, or I'll break your bones!"
The Three-Tails' voice boomed as it transformed into its true form: a giant turtle, tens of meters tall, with three tails and a ferocious appearance that dominated the landscape.
Matatabi, still rampaging, was startled by the Three-Tails' sudden appearance and momentarily ceased its attack.
"Son Gokū, enough," Kai interrupted. "Don't forget our objective."
"Boss, I understand," the Three-Tails responded, instantly shrinking back to the size of a large dog, its expression now fawning and devoid of its previous ferocity.
"Alright, your facial injuries are completely healed," Kai said, withdrawing his hand from Samui's now-unblemished cheek and turning his gaze towards Kinkaku and Ginkaku.
This glance caused everyone's faces to change. Samui, unable to contain herself, grabbed Kai's wrist. "Ka—Uchiha Kai, what are you doing?"
"What am I doing?" Kai smiled, lightly tapping Samui's forehead. "When I take something from someone's home, I always compensate."
"Are they bothering you? Let me help you deal with them!"
His words carried an undeniable authority.
Kinkaku's face twisted in anger. He roared, "Damn you! I haven't dealt with you for that punch earlier, and now you dare interfere in Kumogakure's affairs? I'll kill…"
"Kinkaku, shut up!" Ginkaku interrupted, still avoiding eye contact with Kai. He forced a smile. "Uchiha Kai, it's a pleasure to meet you. I know you command many renegade shinobi. The Five Great Nations have convened a Kage Summit to deal with you; the Fourth Raikage is especially determined to kill you."
"Let's cooperate and strike first, seize Kumogakure, and show the Five Great Nations that we're not to be trifled with. We can use this as a springboard, leveraging our clan's accumulated strength to establish ourselves in Kumogakure, rapidly expanding our power to conquer the shinobi world and become its rulers."
His words, initially hesitant, grew increasingly excited, laced with seductive promises.
Taking advantage of the Fourth Raikage and Killer Bee's absence, and with half of Kumogakure's top forces away, an alliance with the Yotsuki Clan to seize control of Kumogakure wasn't a pipe dream. With Kai's renegade shinobi and the Yotsuki Clan's hidden forces within Kumogakure, achieving this goal wouldn't be difficult.
Any ambitious shinobi would be drawn to this plan for world domination.
For Dodai and the others, however, it was a nightmare.
All eyes turned to Kai, a sense of urgency in their gazes. Samui pressed, "Uchiha Kai, I beg you, for my sake, show mercy and spare Kumogakure."
She wasn't sure what claim she had on Kai's mercy—friendship, or something else. But she had to try. Even if it meant sacrificing herself.
"No, I find his proposal quite tempting," Kai said with a warm smile.
His words sent a jolt through Samui, a wry smile touching her lips. She had anticipated this outcome. She and Kai were mere acquaintances; she had no right to expect his mercy.
But before that thought could fully form, his next words stunned her.
"However, do you have the qualifications to negotiate with me?" The smile faded from Kai's face. He looked at Ginkaku calmly. "I recall you threatening me, saying Kinkaku would tear me apart next time we met. We've met, and I've grown rather impatient."
The sudden shift froze the smile on Ginkaku's face. He stammered, "Uchiha Kai, it was all a misunderstanding! If we cooperate, we can rule the shinobi world!"
"Is that so?" Kai replied flatly, taking a step. A crackle of thunder echoed as he appeared before Kinkaku, twenty or thirty meters away, in the blink of an eye.
"I said, do you even qualify to speak to me?!"
His words were undeniable. Black lightning crackled, radiating a fierce aura. Without hesitation, his right hand clenched into a fist, smashing into Kinkaku's abdomen.
BANG!
A dull collision, like thunder, echoed as the immense force slammed into Kinkaku. Bones shattered, and he flew like a cannonball, crashing into a rock wall fifty or sixty meters away.
The seemingly indestructible wall spiderwebbed and collapsed. A horrifying jet of blood spurted from Kinkaku's mouth amidst the swirling dust.
The terrifying power of that single punch made everyone's eyes widen. A strange warmth bloomed in Samui's heart.
But before she could fully savor it, Yugito's teasing voice reached her ears.
"Big sis, you saw that, right? Oily Old Man is so reassuring. Want to run away together?"
