"You all, stand down!"
Hanzo's weary voice echoed. Before everyone's eyes, he knelt, his chain sickle raised to his abdomen.
The sudden act, resembling a samurai's seppuku, shocked everyone.
No one could intervene in time.
The sickle pierced Hanzo's waist.
Splat!
Blood spurted, along with a large amount of purple liquid—the unique poison of Amegakure's salamanders.
After successfully hunting a salamander, Hanzo had implanted its poison sac into his body.
Every breath he took was laced with poison.
Anyone spending time near him would unknowingly be poisoned to death.
This was why Hanzo wore a respirator.
Hanzo's greatest weakness was the location of the poison sac.
The sight horrified the Amegakure ANBU. Their captain shouted, "Hanzo-sama... why are you doing this? We can fight to the death!"
Their cries reflected the feelings of the remaining ANBU.
But Hanzo's eyes shone brightly. He turned to Kai. "In my life, as Amegakure's leader, I fought in the Second Shinobi World War."
"I surpassed Konoha and the five great nations."
"In the Third Shinobi World War, I maneuvered between the great powers. I seemed invincible, but my aging body and the title of 'demigod' made me complacent."
His weary voice carried a tragic tone. He looked at Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan, then laughed loudly. "Obsessed with power, I neglected strength. I feared a new force threatening my rule."
"But my biggest mistake was making an enemy of you, Uchiha Kai!"
"They can escape, but I, Hanzo, have no face to return to my people. Rather than letting my people die with me, I hope you will accept my death as atonement!"
His drawn-out speech echoed, causing everyone to look at Hanzo with respect.
Just as they were about to express their admiration, a ghostly figure emerged from the ruins behind Kai.
Only a few meters away.
The bandaged man with white hair roared with maniacal joy.
"Yin Release: Demonic Dispersion!"
A white figure appeared behind Kai. A hand reached out, and an inky black vortex opened, releasing intense flames.
If their senses were correct, this power was similar to Madara's.
This attack would instantly kill Kai and the three Akatsuki leaders.
Nagato and the others tensed, trying to help, but found their bodies sluggish and numb.
They couldn't react in time.
This wasn't limited to Nagato and the others; Kosuke, Dai, and other Akatsuki members also felt it.
The attacker, his bandages askew, revealed a triumphant grin.
But before he could celebrate, a hand enlarged in his vision.
Without hesitation, the hand grabbed his face.
The fingers tightened, pulling him from the ground.
Like a battle-axe, the hand, crackling with lightning, slammed him to the ground.
"Lightning Release: Two Thousand-Fold Hell Strike!"
BOOM!
A thunderous explosion echoed.
The ground collapsed under the immense impact, shattering the earth for tens of meters.
The white-haired man, slammed like a ragdoll, spat blood, his chest caving in. The sight was horrific.
Hanzo, about to complete his seppuku, tried to stand.
But the ground around him bulged.
Soil erupted, and bone spears pierced his body.
Thwack!
Cloth tore, blood spurted, creating a gruesome scene.
Impaled by bone spears, Hanzo looked incredulously at Kimimaro, who emerged, and then at Kai.
"Wh...why did you know about my plan?"
"Why...aren't you poisoned?!"
Hanzo's salamander poison was among the deadliest in the world.
It was colorless and odorless, a silent killer.
A single touch was fatal.
Even someone as powerful as Kai, as long as he was still human, Hanzo believed he could be poisoned.
Unlike Danzo and the others, Hanzo had a decades-old regime.
In his old age, he had become obsessed with power.
He couldn't abandon his power, and Kai was inescapable.
So, Hanzo staged a dramatic seppuku, releasing his poison into the air, buying time for his final trump card.
He had seen Kai's Space-Time Ninjutsu. But he believed that even a slight delay caused by poison would create an opening.
But seeing Kai unharmed, Hanzo was shocked.
"Hanzo, you put on quite a show, but I saw through it," Kai chuckled.
"I forgot to mention, Tsunade is like a half-master to me. She's documented your poison and developed an antidote."
"Conveniently, I brought several antidotes, including an airborne version to neutralize your poison."
"In short, Hanzo, your death wasn't in vain!"
