"Boss, you're going to leave this world?" Kimimaro's voice held a note of disbelief.

His understanding of the world was limited to leaving a village, a country—concepts on a relatively small scale. The idea of leaving this world was beyond his comprehension.

However, for Kai, both his sudden appearance in this world and the origins of the Ōtsutsuki clan were proof enough that this world was far more complex than it seemed.

Seeing Kimimaro's puzzled expression, Kai didn't elaborate, simply clapping him on the shoulder before his brow furrowed slightly.

"That guy didn't return to the base Hanzo provided; he's headed in a different direction. Just as I suspected."

"Boss, should we go after him now?" Kimimaro asked, refraining from pressing for further explanation when Kai chose not to elaborate.

Kai nodded, then vanished.

Several kilometers outside Usagi Town, in Amegakure, a man in a white robe moved swiftly through the forest, repeatedly glancing behind him.

Seeing no pursuers, he stumbled, his face flushed, and spat out a mouthful of blood.

The blood soaked his bandages, but Hiruko showed no sign of stopping. His hands flew, weaving a series of hand seals.

Summoning Jutsu!

Bang!

A thick white mist erupted, revealing a monstrous, two-headed serpent.

Without hesitation, the serpent's gaping maw opened, unleashing a wave of foul-smelling wind as it lunged towards a nearby rocky mountain.

BOOM!

A dull collision echoed, sending rocks and dust flying.

A dark figure leaped from the dust cloud.

His pale face contorted as he produced a blade shimmering with a chilling light.

Without any flourish, he swung it at the serpent.

Splat!

Blood erupted as the blade cleaved off one of the serpent's heads.

Hiruko's expression darkened. He produced a ninja tool scroll, summoning two wind-type shuriken.

The shuriken expanded dramatically, becoming meter-wide blades that flew towards Orochimaru, completely cutting off his escape route.

Before Hiruko could celebrate, Orochimaru's body twisted like a boneless noodle, passing through the center of the shuriken.

Bang!

The shuriken slammed into the mountain, shattering the rock face.

Undeterred, Hiruko watched as the severed serpent head rapidly regenerated.

Its red tongue flicked out, and its eyes locked onto Orochimaru.

It lunged again.

Orochimaru, in mid-air, raised an eyebrow, surprised but unfazed. His hands moved rapidly.

"Summoning Jutsu: Rashōmon!"

Bang!

Intricate seals spread, and a massive Rashōmon gate materialized, instantly blocking the serpent.

CLANG!

A heavy metallic collision echoed, denting the gate.

The serpent was injured, its scales shattered, revealing bone.

Ignoring the injuries, the serpent's head regenerated in seconds.

Hiruko didn't attack again. His tongue flicked out, focusing on Orochimaru.

"I never expected you to actually complete the forbidden jutsu research I leaked," Orochimaru said, amused, looking at his old classmate.

Back then, Orochimaru, Jiraiya, and Tsunade had stood out among their classmates. If Jiraiya was the underdog, Hiruko was the underdog's underdog.

Hiruko's jealousy grew as the gap widened. He discovered the theory of combined jutsu.

The two-headed serpent was his initial research subject.

As the experiment progressed, the serpent's strength and regenerative abilities increased.

Hiruko became obsessed.

After defecting, Hiruko realized Orochimaru might have manipulated him.

"Orochimaru, you used me as a guinea pig," Hiruko said, tearing off his bandages, revealing sharp teeth and grotesque scars. His bloodied mouth, with the stitches and scars, was as terrifying as Orochimaru's.

"Hehe, Hiruko, my old friend, are you here to settle a score?" Orochimaru smiled sinisterly. "Your sudden appearance here leads me to believe that one of them invited you, wouldn't you agree?"

"You're still injured. Only Hanzo was slow during your escape. He's the one who contacted you, isn't he?"

Orochimaru examined Hiruko, his smile widening.

"I didn't betray you. The experiment was based on theory, but you're alive, stronger than before. Even Hanzo values you."

"You should thank me."

His words hung heavy in the air.

Hiruko's expression darkened. "Orochimaru, there's no need for verbal probes. When you leaked that experimental theory to me, and observed my hesitation to fully commit, you must have secretly leaked my activities to others, correct?"

"Afterwards, you feigned negligence, allowing me to escape and continue my experiments. You wanted my results, didn't you?"

Confronting Orochimaru, who had betrayed even his closest friend, Hiruko remained calm, continuing his statement.

"I witnessed your immortality firsthand, but you lack the potent regenerative abilities that I've achieved."

"However, I can inform you of one crucial fact: this forbidden jutsu is far from perfected."
