She walked down the hallway, humming again.
She pushed the door open with a soft click and froze.
Her eyes went wide. Her breath caught in her throat.
Right in the middle of Class D sat an enormous, glossy black coffin. Its polished lid gleamed under the morning light like something out of an old vampire movie. Boo was floating nearby, doing slow loops around it, his round ghost eyes wide with envy. The other babies were gathered in a loose circle, each one reacting in their own tiny way.
Alina stopped dead in the doorway, her folder nearly slipping from her hands. "What… is THIS?" she asked, her voice half squeak, half stern teacher tone.
Boo zipped over like a tiny gossip bee, eyes shining. "Teacher! Teacher!! Vlad Jr. brought his custom-made bed for nap time! It's sooo cool!"
Boo sniffed a little and then thought, If Boo had Mom and Dad too, Boo would get custom bed too, he thought sadly.
