Chapter 1—The Birthday
It was Lorine's 20th birthday, and she was planning on celebrating it like every other birthday where she would invite her closest friends, Cece and Lily, to her house, and they would drink, laugh, dance, and have fun, but Cece and Lily had something else in mind.
"Amm… Lorine, don't you think we should make a change this year?" Cece asked, and Lorine knew what she meant because it seemed this wasn't her first birthday. They decided to force her to go to a club.
"Cece we've talked about this before."
"Lorine, you need to loosen up. Feel free. You are now 20 for heaven's sake. Stop acting like some nun or child." Lily finally spoke, and silence fell. Lorine sat on her chair and placed her hand underneath her chin, and after some thoughts and inner battles, she finally agreed, and Cece and Lily smiled from ear to ear.
They arrived at the club feeling all hype, hot, and sexy, but Lorine wasn't used to this kind of
atmosphere, you could see the anxiety written all over her face. Cece and Lily grabbed her hand and told her to loosen up and take her to the dance floor, and they began to dance to every music, shouting their lungs out. Lorine was so happy.
"Hey, Mr. DJ." She called out to him as he placed down his headphones and leaned closer.
"Anything miss?"
"Amm... you see, today is my birthday and I want to say something." He smiled at her words and helped her on the stage and lowered the music as he picked up the mic.
"Attention everyone, today we are celebrating our princess birthday, miss…" he trailed off.
"Lorine."
"Miss Lorine and she have something to say, people."
"Hello everyone, my name is Lorine, and today is my 20th birthday, and this is my first time at a club, and so free drinks on me, everyone."
And with that, the crowd was wild. Everyone was cheering on her name, and Cece and Lily began to laugh. "Nice girl." For a moment there it was all girls' night till her hazel eyes became fixed on him and as if he could feel her eyes on him, he turned and their eyes met.
