Alina sighed. "Everyone, eyes forward. If you keep twisting like that, people will think Class D does not have manners."
They all froze at once.
Then, very slowly, every little head turned forward like penguins falling into line.
Alina settled back into her seat, feeling slightly recovered, and looked around at their curious faces. "Is this your first time in a place like this?" she whispered softly.
All of them nodded at once, big eyes, round cheeks, tails and wings twitching with excitement they were barely able to contain.
Even Kelpie raised his hand shyly, his voice small. "I remember we had a festival last year… but I only remember bubbles… and my mom feeding me… and then sleeping on Dad's arms…"
He pouted a little.
Alina laughed gently, her heart warming. "It's alright. It is normal to be curious. But you all have to sit still and wait. The show will start soon."
They nodded again obediently.
