Chapter 78 - Preparation.

Two goes by with the team playing two more league fixtures and they have won them both. And now they are two weeks away from playing in a final against Bayer Leverkusen.

Their last two fixtures were against Werder Bremen U17 and Hertha BSC U17. In both games they played well and scored a few goals. The games went a fourth:

vs Werder Bremen U17 - It was a home game against them. And they won 3 - 1, with Leon creating two of those goals and also scored one. He was man of the match, which was meant to be confidence boost for him since the game against Borussia Dortmund. Although Leon contributed stat wise, when it comes to his impact throughout the match it was questionable.

He wasn't affective in the way he usually is, and although he was happy with the award. He didn't feel like he deserved the award. He is still mentally wavered by that game, but his hard work is paying off when it comes to contributing to team play.

Although he was doing good in the eyes of the coaches, they could still tell that he was scared to express himself like he usually does.

Che on the other hand didn't contribute anything according to the stats but was the most dangerous person during the match. His key passes and dribbles were a threat, still carrying the confidence from the previous game.

vs Hertha BSC U17- Another home game and it was a defensive battle, where both teams break the deadlock (couldn't score the first goal.) until the 80th minutes when Kenmoe who came in as substitute score a long range shot from outside the box.

Altogether it was a good defensive team performance from both teams and Stuttgart took a chance on luck by the end of the game. Stuttgart won 1 - 0.

The league is now finished after 32 games and all 17 teams are finished with their games. As predicted Bayer Leverkusen have won the league, they've won their last 2 games without conceding a goal and scoring ten goals altogether.

Against FC Köln U17 they won 6 - 0 and against Borussia Mönchengladbach U17 won 4 - 0. In which they dominated in all aspects of both games.

Bundesliga U-17 Standings – Matchday 32

1 - Winner. Bayer Leverkusen – 77 pts (25W, 2D, 5L) | 79 goals scored, 22 conceded (+57 GD)

2 - Second place. Bayern Munich – 77 pts (23W, 8D, 1L) | 61 goals scored, 28 conceded (+33 GD)

3 - Third place. Frankfurt – 77 pts (22W, 11D, 1L) | 56 goals scored, 30 conceded (+26 GD)

Stuttgart on the other hand the have also been in good form at the end of the season and they were still eight, but they ended the season on good winning streak.

8th. Stuttgart – 50 pts (11W, 17D, 4L) | 55 goals scored, 38 conceded (+17 GD)

The only game left now is the cup final. And Stuttgart is preparing for the game. Everyone is gathered in the meeting room looking at the screen filled with statistics of Leverkusen's last 5 games.

''As you guys can see Bayer Leverkusen are very good offensively and even better defensively. Simply because they all understand each other. Everyone in that team has been playing together since they were U8s and I don't lie when I tell you that everyone in that team is good enough to be there.

Unlike most team in the league, they don't have a fixed formation or system, and they are told to express themselves. In the two games we played against them this season we've drawn one and lost the other, but we can surely say that we know who'll be threatening during the whole match.''

The coach pulls out a video display of the team playing, and the ball is started from the back.

''As you can see right now, the team has a system of 3-4-3 before they attack.''

He fasts forwards the footage and stops again.

''Now look, the formation has changed to a 4-4-2. And then... now it's a 4-3-3. I'm sure by now you know where I'm going with this. Everyone in the team has no fixed position.

The only ones that have a fixed position are:

GK: Julian Leuchter - Which is obvious since he is the goalkeeper.

CB: Ben Hawighorst - He is physically ahead of the rest of them but not as technically good, he doesn't need to be though since he is regarded as the wall. Or often known as the no nonsense center back.

DM: Halil Koç - The captain of the team, and it's not more so that he doesn't have a fixed position, but he has a role. He leads and makes sure that everything is going well. He is also more of a ball winner but don't doubt his playmaking ability. (Also is a German international and is playing games for U19s but was asked to play in the final.)

ST: Berkan Ermec - He is the striker, and always on the last man. Doesn't have much to his game other than scoring goals and being at the right position at the right time.

As you can see the trend with people with fixed positions is that they are specialist in said positions. And just because they aren't moving all over the pitch doesn't mean that they aren't good at what they do.

What you usually face with expressive teams like Leverkusen is the lack of defensive capabilities and the exceptional offensive abilities. But this team balances both of them at extraordinary rate. Everyone in the team understands their role and as you may know, can play in multiple positions.

This because they've been playing with each other since they've joined the club, with the same coach. Every year.''

''So you're saying that their coach gets promoted with them when they get promoted?'' The captain asks.

''Yes.'' The assistant coach answers.

Everyone in the room looks at each other, shocked by what they've just heard.

''Gentleman this who you're facing in the final. We'll do our best to prepare you guys, but this will be a battle that only you can resolve.''

''Yes coach!''
