Chapter 77 - Important future.

During the practice session of Bayern Munich's woman first team, there are people watching them train. Spectators and reporters have come to watch their training, and photos are being taken while some spectators talk about the team amongst each other.

''Yeah, she's been very good recently.''

''And the fact that she's only 16... the level of IQ she has on the pitch with her age, it's generational.''

Lana is training along with the first team, and she looks comfortable, being able to hold her own against players more experienced than her.

After the training session they go back to the changing room. After that she gets a phone call from her agent. He tells her that they have a meeting with the head coach of the woman's team (José Barcala)later that afternoon.

He claims to not know what the meeting will be about but it most likely is going to be about her future with the first team. Lana agrees that they can go meet him after she has finished with her lunch.

After Lana finishes her lunch, she goes towards coach Barcala's office and her agent is already outside the office waiting for her. The moment he sees her; they greet each other before they walk into the office.

Barcala is on his desk busy with something on his laptop and hears a knock on the door, he invites them in and slowly closes the laptop.

''Hey, welcome.'' He smiles. ''Please grab a seat, I've been expecting you.''

''Hi coach.'' Lana greets.

They take their seats after both of them shake his hand.

''So, I've called the two of you here because I want to talk about Solana's future at the first team.''

Lana and her agent look at each other and nod.

''I don't have the say about the numbers and the only thing I just look forward to her playing time. And how she could help us help her develop into a first team player...

We regard Solana important for our team's future and believe that in the next two to three years she could be a first team player with no doubt.''

''So, what were you willing to offer her in terms of her playing time.''

''I know we've been suffering injuries, and she has had a few starts in the last few games, but I believe next season if she plays in sporadic games and some cup games, she'll be fine. And given that and she does exceptionally well I might rotate her as a fullback to her more game time. I believe she has the intelligence to play as a center back, full back and as an anchor in the midfield if needed.

But we primarily plan to develop her as a defender. So agreed or do you feel the need to add more to my proposal?''

''We agree with those terms and believe that Solana will be able to develop properly if things go this way.''

''Okay than.'' He claps. ''Glad we got to come to an agreement.''

The three of them get up and shake hands, Solana smiles at the coach. ''Thank you coach.''

After the meeting the two of them leave the room and Barcala gets back to his work on the laptop. The moment they leave the room, Lana squints in excitement and jumps up and down.

She holds his hands while still jumping.

''Hey, calm down would, you're still around at work.'' He laughs.

''I don't care! I'm basically a professional now.''

''Yeah, you are, but Lana remember that this is only the beginning for you, so from here we work up. Okay?''

''Definitely! I should probably tell mom. Che too! He'd be so happy for me!'' She squints.

''He probably will. We should call them and tell them to come and join us for the weekend to celebrate.''

''Yeah, yeah definitely.''

Lana can't get herself to stop smiling even when she arrives at her room she's still smiling, Mathilda notices something off about her. The fact that she was smiling was odd, because she wasn't used to seeing Lana smiling.

''What's wrong with you?''

''Nothing.''

''Ahhh you got some good news or something. So tell me what happened?''

''Okay.'' She looks around with her voice lower. ''I might... don't tell this to any. I might be a first team player from now on.''

''What?!-''

''Shhhh. You can't be talking out loud. Things haven't been finalized yet but I had a meeting with the head coach and he said I'll be in the first team from next season.''

''Wow! This is so great!''

''I know!''

The two of them jump around the room and celebrate by jumping on top of their beds. Other people walk past their room and see the two of them.

''What is going on here?''

''Nothing!'' Both of them say at the same time.

She looks at the two of them and rolls her eyes. ''Okay.''

Later that day Lana is on a call with her mother telling her the great news.

''Oh my gosh, I'm so happy for you! Have you told Che yet?''

''Thank you, ma. No I haven't, I was hoping he'd be home by this time so I could tell the two of you together.''

''No, he said he's coming late tonight because he is going out with friends.''

''Friends? And on a school night?'' Lana asks concerned.

''Yeah, he's been doing that a lot recently. I think he might have a girlfriend.'' She laughs.

''A girlfriend?! Ma why would you allow something like this?!'' She shouts. ''And allow him out on a school night! This isn't like you ma!''

''Come on, he's a kid. It's not like he'll be a problem, just to let his mind off football for a while. I can't have both of my babies be drowned in that sport.''

''Ma come on, you never allowed me to do any of these things. Why does he get to do them?!'' Lana cries.

''Lana come on, it's your day today. You shouldn't be getting worked up over these things.''

''Whatever. Just admit that Che is your favorite.''

''Don't be like that.'' Her mother laughs. ''Listen, tell Daniel that the two of us will come this weekend to celebrate, okay?''

''Yeah okay.''

''I love you Solana.''

''Love you too ma.''

She drops the call and sits on her bed thinking about how Che being with girl could distract from football. She didn't like it, thinking about how they'll use him because they'll use him for his football money.

Later at night while Lana is asleep her phone buzzes and she wakes ups barely able to open her eyes she looks at it and it's Che. She picks up.

''Hey!! Mom told me that you made to the first team. Congratulations!'' Che shouts.

''Why are you call me so late?''

''I came late... but's only 9. And I texted you and you didn't respond. Also why are you asleep so early?''

''Because there's a game tomorrow.''

''Oh sorry. But I still had to call you to congratulate you.''

''Thanks.''

''Hey come on, why don't you sound happy.''

''I don't know, maybe because you just woke me up.''

''Come on sorry okay.''

''By the way... ma tells me you have a girlfriend.''

''I don't know what you're talking about.''

''Don't lie to me.''

''I do, but it's more complicated than that.''

''There's nothing complicated about that.''

''Chill out man. This isn't about my girl- I called you to congratulate you. And there's something I wanted to tell you. A promise, and you're the only person I want to keep it to.''

''What?''

''Lana... you and I, let's take over the world.''

''What?''

''The day, I decided that I want to become the greatest player to ever live. And I want you to be that too. Like Messi and Ronaldo.''

Lana stayed silent as a chill went down her spine.

''I want that for you too. You and I to carry both of our names to glory.''

''Hmph, that's easier said than done.''

''But it can be done, right?'' Che smiles to himself. ''Just imagine, when people think of our name. Greatness or Legend comes to mind. For the both of us.''

''Okay, let's do it.'' Lana smiles proud of Che and of herself.

''Plus, I don't want you to hold me down when people think of our names.''

''You wish! I'm the one in the first team between the two of us.''

Che laughs and Lana joins him too.
