Chapter 132: You've Indeed Lost Your Mother, But You Still Have Us!
"Behold, my finishing move~!"
Golden lightning gathered from all directions between the double-strung, double-bowed weapon, condensing into a golden-green magical arrow. The moment the string was released, it was wreathed in a whirlwind, crossing several thousand meters in an instant. Trailing a vast golden thunder, it pierced the prelude to the genesis attack and, without losing momentum, impaled the Mother of Deception's right arm.
"No!" Cocolia roared. The expansion of the genesis attack halted, and the hundred-meter-diameter golden energy sphere began to tremble violently. Both the piercing of her attack's prelude and the wound on her arm made it difficult for Cocolia to control the chaotic Imaginary energy. The immeasurable power raged, and finally, following the path of the lightning arrow, it began to spew from the wound, on the verge of exploding.
The blue demon god, holding its lance, came speeding in. It moved to block the path of Caelus and Stelle, who were flying in on the Heaven-Covering Divine Dragon, and raised its weapon. The Surging Wave Lance, also known as the Buvai Tosa, was a double-headed spear, entirely water-blue, with a wave-shaped handguard. One end was wreathed in a clear, surging tide, while the other held a chilling, extreme frost. Super AquaBeat also wielded two Madou Powers: water and ice.
Dan Heng, gripping the central part of the shaft, spun the Surging Wave Lance. The blade slashed upwards from below, then fell from above, carving an X-shaped trajectory. The first trajectory transformed into an emerging azure dragon, which collided with the gushing torrent of Imaginary energy, neutralizing it and diverting the aftershock to the side. The second slash, a blade of extreme ice, struck from the Mother of Deception's left shoulder to her right waist. Perhaps because both were ice-elemental powers, this reverse cross-slash only caused a certain amount of damage and failed to deliver a fatal blow to Cocolia.
"It's up to you guys," Dan Heng said, looking at the red and white mecha that was riding a black obsidian dragon and raising a divine sword, like a sun god hero from an epic, riding a dragon to slay a demon king.
"Right," Stelle's voice came from within the Madou King.
"How can this be! My new world! I will become the mother of the new world!" The dark side of Cocolia, drawn out by the Tarakudo Mask, was covered in wounds like a starry sky of ice. But even so, she had no intention of retreating. She was still venting her final rage, hysterically condensing lances of eternal frost to resist.
"Cocolia, it's over."
The hexagram magic platform transferred its power to the sword, and Stelle retracted her own lance. At this moment, Caelus's right hand and Stelle's left hand were both gripping the crimson-gold divine sword, which pulsed with the flames of the sun and the fire of Preservation.
"—Sever in a Single Strike—"
The sea of fire receded, the brilliant flames were extinguished, the lava dimmed. In an instant, the sky full of blazing fire vanished, not a single spark remaining. The final blow of the ultimate move was as if the world had suddenly changed, shifting from a flashy, magical style to the most ordinary of downward slashes.
"—Super Kaiser Blade!"
The red and white Madou King simply raised its divine sword and brought it down with immense force. The only difference was that the divine sword had now completely turned the color of the sun.
Caelus finally understood why, in his childhood, so few villain mecha could withstand this one finishing blow. All the flames and heat that Granzort could control were now absorbed by the Super Kaiser Blade. Its state was similar to the Bankai of the strongest fire-type Zanpakutō in Bleach, Ryūjin Jakka. All the flames were contained within the blade, their power completely concentrated. The space around the blade was being burned through by the heat of the extremely condensed solar fire.
"No, impossible!"
The sword fell. Like a hot knife through tofu, a faint, pale-gold line spread from the Mother of Deception's forehead down to the triangular area protected by the ice lock. The solar flame was madly destroying the already crumbling body of the Mother of Deception, completely erasing the life force within her. The brilliant, golden-black light of the Stellaron bloomed from the wound, dazzling and tragic.
"My... world..."
As the Mother of Deception's life force faded, the Stellaron's power, having taken the full brunt of the blow, went berserk. Sensing the terrifying power about to be unleashed, Caelus deftly retracted the Kaiser Blade, and with a wave of his large hand, snatched the Tarakudo Mask, which was flying through the air. He had intentionally held back to avoid the mask.
"Waaaah!"
The Heaven-Covering Divine Dragon, which had been soaring high, lowered its head, switching from a "leaping the dragon gate" ascent to a headlong dive. Caelus had Granzort stomp forcefully on the diving dragon's head, gaining an acceleration far greater than gravity. Like a shooting star, it fell from the sky.
"Seele! Bronya!" Stelle had aimed their jump towards the other Seele and Bronya's position; they were very close to the explosion point.
"Don't come over here! Bronya, your mom's about to explode!"
"..."
Stelle's one sentence dealt a massive blow to Bronya's brain, causing her to freeze on the spot, not knowing how to react.
Amidst the violent tremor of the earth, Granzort landed beside the two frozen girls. Caelus knelt on one knee, leaning forward and using the body of the divine mecha to shield them.
BOOM!
With a heaven-and-earth-shaking roar, a scorching flash of light erupted in the twilight, blasting away all darkness and ominous clouds.
The two Seeles merged back into one using the Tiger Talisman and created a flower-tree shield with the White Flower to block the blast. Welt also had his own methods of neutralizing the energy shockwave. As for Dan Heng and March 7th, there was even less need to worry. March even used AquaBeat to fly to a position higher than the explosion point and started snapping pictures with her camera.
She captured the moment the Stellaron exploded, the image of Granzort protecting Seele and Bronya with its body, and the instant the darkness was washed away, revealing the morning sun.
The wind swept across the land in an instant. Even nestled in Granzort's embrace, Bronya's and the other Seele's long hair still flew wildly.
During the explosion, inside the cockpit, Caelus's eyes widened in ecstasy. A water-droplet-like notification sound echoed in his mind. It was a system prompt.
[Hidden Trailblaze Mission Completed: After the Withered Winter Night, Under the Blazing Sun of Dawn. Reward: 241 Crystals]
A hidden Trailblaze Mission? There was still a surprise! It was just that the name of this hidden mission didn't fit the system's style at all.
The gale gradually subsided into a gentle breeze. "Mother..." The residual light filled the high heavens. Bronya stumbled forward a few steps. Even though she had long prepared herself mentally, Cocolia's mad and ugly side had left her extremely disappointed. But when Cocolia truly died before her eyes, an unbearable bitterness still welled up from the bottom of her heart.
She stared blankly at the sky, not knowing what expression to make. Her extremely complex emotions were as thick as an abyss.
The explosion ceased. The ethereal and elegant AquaBeat spread its wings and soared across the blue sky and white clouds, its large mecha hand grabbing the unstable Stellaron as it floated in the air.
"Wow! This trailblazing journey was so, so exciting!"
"Caelus, Stelle, we did it!" AquaBeat landed in front of Granzort, and a voice as lively and sweet as ever came out.
"I told you before, right? With me here, this round is a guaranteed win."
"Yeah, yeah!" March 7th nodded in agreement, her smile bright. Whatever Caelus said now was right! Piloting a mecha was just too cool! "Oh, right! I almost forgot!"
March 7th took out her precious camera, preparing to have Caelus help her take a few pictures in her cool magic battle armor, preferably with AquaBeat.
Just then, the strange space inside the mecha cockpit suddenly filled with white light. Amidst March 7th's panicked cries of "Huh?" and "Wha?", AquaBeat's form gradually dissipated into the green wind. Holding her camera, March 7th, with her shoulders hunched and one leg lifted back in a very girlish pose, appeared bewildered in mid-air, then landed lightly.
Their time was up.
Not only AquaBeat, but Granzort also dissipated into motes of light, and the hand-in-hand Stelle and Caelus emerged from the white light. Dan Heng was the unluckiest. He was flying Winzert towards them, but in the middle of his descent, the mecha suddenly disappeared. Seele, who was closest to his position, could clearly see the bewilderment on his face. Seele's face showed concern, but in reality, she couldn't hold back her laughter. Under the cover of the flower-tree shield, Seele took out her phone and snapped a series of pictures of Dan Heng's head-first dive, sent them to Caelus, then skillfully deleted the local files and chat history, and moved away from where she had taken the pictures. Dan Heng was very lucky; aside from Seele, no one saw his embarrassing moment.
"March, give me the Stellaron." Caelus took out his phone and glanced at the time. The Madou Kings had lasted for an hour and forty minutes. Considering the intensity of the battle, that was quite good.
"Oh, okay!" March 7th blinked and handed the Stellaron in her hand to Caelus.
"So this is a Stellaron?"
After taking it, Caelus examined it seriously. Stelle craned her little head over, looking at it curiously. She knew she had a Stellaron inside her, but she had never seen what one looked like. Having entrusted most of its power to Cocolia and then undergoing a massive energy release after being blown up, the current Stellaron had entered a semi-dormant state, its overall aura much fainter.
Caelus tried to press the Stellaron against his chest. As an energy source, the Stellaron was quite good. But unfortunately, he couldn't push it in.
After a moment of thought, Caelus held the Stellaron and pressed it against Stelle's chest.
"Hey! Caelus, what are you doing? Don't push so hard! What if you make my size smaller?" Stelle shrank back.
"I told you I can help you rub them bigger!" Caelus pushed a few more times but found that it wouldn't go in. It seemed that even a body created to be a vessel for a Stellaron could only hold one. He and Stelle were one person; their two bodies were one at the microscopic level.
Then, Caelus threw the Stellaron into the temporary containment device Himeko had given them. Later, they would take it back to the Express and seal it with a more complete device.
After temporarily storing the Stellaron, the group walked over to Bronya.
"Big Sis Bronya, are you okay?" In a soft, gentle voice, Seele tightly held Bronya's hand, as if to warm her with her own.
The other Seele patted Bronya's shoulder forcefully. "Don't be so down! We just sealed the Stellaron and saved all of Belobog! Cheer up for me!"
"...I'm fine." Bronya let out a long sigh.
Stelle looked at Bronya in this state and felt she should say something to comfort her. But what should she say? In her eyes, Cocolia was undoubtedly the culprit and a wicked villain boss. That immense dark power said it all.
She held her delicate chin and fell into deep thought. An idea flashed through her "subconscious," and her eyes lit up as if a lightbulb had appeared above her head. She mimicked the other Seele and patted Bronya's shoulder forcefully, offering sincere comfort:
"Don't be sad, Bronya. You've indeed lost your mother, but you still have us!"
SNAP!
Welt, who was just walking over, felt as if a string in his mind had just snapped.
