"Everlin gave me the gist of what your deal with him was," said the Old Lady.
Danso listened without speaking and stayed quiet and cautious.
"I can fix your problem, Lance," said the Old Lady.
"How?" asked Danso.
"Due to the Aurora covering the land of the Frozen Everglades and the Snow Kingdom, we have a different soul energy system than Lukia, Ninjaro, Indus, etc," explained the Old Lady.
Danso nodded. He knew that every country had their own ways of using soul energy since he had a lecture about it from Hiroshi. The culture, the diet, the environmental conditions were all factors in the different systems of power around Laxasis.
"Using soul energy directly in the Aurora is very dangerous since using a soul well directly will repel the aura of the Aurora and create sparks of aftermath that could kill you. Therefore we use orbs and ritualistic magic to indirectly use magic and eventually we kept the system and made it a part of our culture even when we are outside the Aurora," said the Old Lady.
"What do you mean indirectly? Won't the Aurora create aftermath sparks even if you use the orb?" asked Danso.
"Good question! By concentrating our soul into the orb, which is made of a special mineral only found in the Land covered by the Aurora called Astralis, we can negate the aftermath sparks and use magic. The chants help us to concentrate the soul energy," explained the Old Lady.
"So that means I cannot awaken my soul well here?" asked Danso.
"Of course you can but you will need to learn Ritualistic Magic to continue using sorcery here in the Land covered by the Aurora," said the Old Lady.
"And you are willing to teach the culture of a tribe without knowing anything but my name?" asked Danso.
"I am the one who asked Everlin to catch you," said the Old Lady.
Danso gasped as he learnt the information. Did he meet this person before? As Danso thought he knew this was the first time even meeting an elder from the Frozen Everglades or Snow Kingdom.
"Why? What was so special about me?" asked Danso.
"I know everything because I am a F-"
Suddenly Leonard slammed into the hut panting. His long white hair seemed tainted with crimson blood. The Old Lady looked at Leonard and smiled and Danso stood up and went towards him.
"Lance, The King is calling you, we have an issue. The Yetis are invading!" explained Leonard while breaking his sentences to regain his breath.
Danso glanced at the Old Lady and waved her goodbye rushing off since he was already wearing his Red Samurai suit he did not need to prepare and went to meet Everlin. He followed Leonard, who was sprinting on top of the rooftops and eventually found Everlin, who was standing outside the magic veil of the village fighting the Yeti's with a couple dozen men. They were either Archers or Brutes and Everlin did not have time to glance back and greet Danso.
"Situation is bad?" asked Danso.
Leonard looked at Danso before shaking his head and replied by pointing to the hordes of Yetis in the wild all charging towards the villagers. The Yetis were ginormous almost half the height of the large trees therefore being around 5 meters tall. They had two horns on their head along with white fur and scaly feet and arms. Then he saw one of the Yeti's picking up a tree and throwing it directly at the veil.
"These are just the beginning, these are for wearing the veil down so they can attack with more vigor after the veil is gone!" said Danso to Leonard.
He sprinted and climbed the rooftops. The veil was cracking as many more Yeti's were trying to wear the veil down by throwing rocks, boulders at it and he saw a house near the place where the tree was about to land and saw a family of four panicking. The tree crashed into the veil and he knew he could not reach there in time.
But he had to try to save them.
Because that's who he was deep down as a human.
The giant snow tree's roots collided with the veil as it shattered creating a storm of aftermath sparks. The wind helped it accelerate as Danso sprinted and then jumped.
He was not special now. He was only a normal human without the ability to use soul energy. So how could he save him?
By becoming Red Samurai.
The tree got cut down by half as both the halves of the tree fell into empty space creating a massive thud and snow getting kicked up into the sky.
Two kids were coughing and the mother and father were holding them tightly.
As the snow cleared they saw a single man standing on top of their roof with his sword out.
"A Red…Samurai," said the girl child as the boy child just stared at him in amazement.
Danso stood there in awe. He took a few deep breaths as he could not believe what he had just done. He used Wind Stance to sprint faster and 'walked' on air before reaching the tree on time. Adrenaline rushed through his body before focusing on the storm of aftermath sparks.
"These Yetis don't know this would happen?" thought Danso.
He ran back to the ground and regrouped with Everlin and Leonard. Everlin finished off the first wave of the Yeti's while Leonard used his secrecy and assassin techniques to kill some Yeti's.
Everlin shot a blue light straight up to the sky and began to chant some chants. Then two people from the back two watchtowers reflected light and sparks from the Aurora using two Astralis mirrors which caused a neutral white beam of light to be fired at the aftermath spark storm. After a few seconds the storm dissipated to the surroundings and Leonard quickly replaced the veil with a new one.
The Yetis then quickly retreated back into the endless white forest.
Then, Leonard fainted to the ground and Everlin picked him up.
"Thanks for coming out here, you saved some people," said Everlin, glancing at the large tree that got chopped in two.
Danso did not take the praise since he did nothing besides save four people and Everlin and Leonard took care of most of the Yeti's.
He returned back to the hut of the Old Lady after resting for a few hours in a small hut that Everlin showed him, telling him that this was his temporary home for now.
Danso went through the mat door that he had to walk through to enter and sat down at the same place where he sat down before.
He waited for the Old Lady and after a few minutes she came out of the kitchen with freshly brewed coffee. She gave Danso a cup and he sipped it before placing it back on the table.
"Where were we?" asked the Old Lady.
"You were explaining that you were the one who told Everlin to catch me," said Danso.
"Right, right, so as I was saying Danso-"
Danso got up and unsheathed his sword and placed it on the woman's neck.
"Something is going on here and I don't like it. How do you know my real name?" asked Danso.
"I am a Fate Reader," said the Old Lady.
The Old Lady tapped her walking stick and threw Danso back onto the chair he was sitting on.
"What is that?" asked Danso.
"Fate is what is going to happy to a certain being happy. The third stage of sages in Indus can create fate and read it, but due to my age and my limited soul energy I can only read it," said the Old Lady.
"What did you read about me?" questioned Danso.
"Your soul is incomplete and too large for me to read but I instantly felt a sensation when I was reading the daily fate of everyone in the village," said the Old Lady.
"Isn't it tiring?" asked Danso.
"What is tiring?" asked the Old Lady.
"Knowing everything but not being able to change. Reading everyday until you die," said Danso.
The Old Lady put a gentle smile before bursting out into laughter. Danso did not expect this reaction because he thought he said something that was philosophical and deep.
"No it's a responsibility and I took it. I lived my life well," said the Old Lady.
"Well I at least think I need to know your name if you want to help me," said Danso.
"My name is Yvette," said the Old Lady.
Danso's eyes widened in shock.
