Tensei ran towards Haruki and stood in front of him and placed his hand in front of him to prevent Haruki from moving forward. Sunny watched this act and clapped.
"Feels like I am watching a father and a son," said Sunny.
"Who are you, what do you want?" asked Tensei.
Sunny put his left foot forward and appeared right next to Tensei's ear and whispered.
"Always quick with the questions aren't you?"
Tensei extended his nails to create claws and slashed at the moving figure of Sunny but he was too slow and he had already returned to his original state in front of Tensei. Sunny, who unsheathed his pitch black sword, stared at Tensei and then stared at Haruki.
"If I kill the child," said Sunny, his blade pointing towards Haruki. "Will I get to see the Berserker Demon form?" asked Sunny.
Tensei was more cautious and wanted to end this conflict without any fights. He had just healed and was not in a position to fight freely and his main priority was Haruki's safety. Even though he was a prodigious talent and his Shadow Companions were formidable just from the mere aura that was leaking from Sunny he could tell that this would prove to be a tough fight, but not an impossible one. Tensei leaned over and whispered to Haruki.
"Look buddy, we might be in a pickle so…"
"We have to fight and win don't we?" Haruki completed Tensei's sentence.
Tensei nodded meaning yes.
"Don't worry about me, I'll handle myself," said Haruki with a thumbs-up.
Sunny rushed towards Tensei with his sword fully unsheathed and as he moved against the gusts of wind his blade started to have black sparks dancing across the blade. Tensei quickly got ready to dodge and transformed into his One-Horned Transformation while Haruki summoned Demon Bull and Illuder and they came out of the empty, noir void that Haruki summoned.
Sunny slashed at Tensei but he quickly blocked it with his hard, protective scales and then Haruki's Demon Bull ran towards Sunny with its horns attempting to stab Sunny. Illuder jumped on to a nearby tree and started to morph the surroundings and gave Sunny a feeling of nausea with the repeated change of the surroundings and the constant spinning of everything.
"Reality morphing? This kid can truly summon magnificent beasts," thought Sunny as he quickly kicked the Demon Bull out of his way with his left leg that was enhanced with soul energy.
Sunny shifted his focus to the lean and transparent Illuder who was standing on top of a tall nearby tree. He camouflaged himself but Sunny could still detect him due to him not knowing Essence to conceal the sliver of soul energy that was leaking out of him. He cut the tree down with a quick slash that caused Illuder to come falling down harshly. Tensei used this opportunity where Sunny was not focusing on him to use his claws and clawed on Sunny's black alkanium steel armor that had crimson red outlines. Sunny was also wearing a black mask that made it impossible to tell what Sunny looked like and he seemed to have long white hair and demon horns that were a part of the mask.
Haruki summoned his Lightning Bird as well and it started to fly high up in the air and create thunder and lightning strikes that did damage to Sunny. After their immense teamwork, Tensei was getting hope that he might be able to win this fight fairly easily without pushing himself to the 1.5 Horned Transformation or Two-Horned Transformation.
And then Tensei's hopes and dreams got crushed in an instant. Sunny used his blade to quickly attack Illuder, who changed the surroundings again. As Sunny hunted Illuder, he saw Tensei who started attacking him with his soul energy refined claws. Sunny did a 360 degree kick on Tensei's face and then summoned a fireball in his left hand and threw it at Haruki. The Demon Bull, who got angry due to Sunny's attack on Haruki, rampaged towards Sunny who sliced the beast in half with a simple fire enhanced black blade strike.
By now Tensei had observed that the man he was fighting had a unique sword mainly because it was pure black in color. No sword in Laxaxis and being pure black due to the metals and the constant supply of soul energy through the sword would make the sword have some sort of color.
This could only mean one thing and that was the fact the unknown warrior was most definitely someone who used Dark or Black Magic. This would also taint someone's soul therefore making all their attacks much more stronger but an extra risk of losing control and imploding causing you to either turn into a mindless blob of flesh that is part of an intricate hivemind, or instant death. When Tensei glanced at Haruki he instantly realised that even Haruki had also understood about the unknown man using Black Magic.
"His talent, grasp, and application skills never cease to impress me," Tensei praised Haruki in his brain.
Now, Sunny started to be the one on the attack. He went towards Illuder again, easily finding his location without difficulty, and was quickly attacking him as Illuder kept on dodging and shifting the surroundings. Then at a crucial juncture Sunny accidentally rushed into one of the trees that Illuder had morphed and changed to realise that this magic was not reality shifting magic but none other than illusions. So these were just fake.
After this realisation Sunny quickly scanned his surroundings and memorised the entire layout of the battlefield and this time went towards Illuder to unleash the final blow. Rushing and running mindlessly through the trees and through the illusions, Illuder did not see Sunny's attack coming as he charged up his sword and black sparks started to dance on his blade alerting him of the over usage of black magic.
Then Sunny chanted in an ancient language that originated from the Barren Wastelands.
"The Exiled One, The King of Noir Blood, The Mortal who murdered a God, and the Founder of Black Magic, I pray for you to supply my blade with the power of the Sun once more," chanted Sunny.
As Sunny chanted these words, Tensei and Haruki along with his Shadow Companions were rushing towards Sunny to protect Illuder but as soon as he finished chanting they felt a deadly aura leak from Sunny as the temperature started to increase and their vision started to dim and blur, they instantly halted and were stuck in their place, unmoving.
"If this man is praying to someone with a four name honorific…Then he must be on the level of a sixth dimension deity at worst! That deity must be on par with a King of Demons!" exclaimed Tensei.
Tensei's survival instinct quickly awoke as he rushed towards Haruki to protect him and Haruki summoned the World Serpent, whose long, scaly, green and black, and tough body created a perfect wall that protected Haruki from whatever attack was going to occur.
But Tensei knew one thing. Even though he could hide with Haruki if he did then Sunny would just kill the World Serpent and it would return to the void and Haruki won't be able to use the Serpent until its 'Shadow integrity' as Haruki called it was refilled. So he decided to be bait. There was no way he could block it and if he did then Haruki's perfect cover would be blown.
Was this risky? Sure, but Tensei knew the danger before acting. After all he firmly believed he dragged Haruki into this mess and he also heard from his beloved sensei that 'No one should take the youth away from the kids'.
Sunny's blade turned from pitch black to a bright red, boiling, and molten sword as Sunny raised his sword up and then brought the blade down with flames starting to rise up from the sword.
Tensei glanced at the scene for a minute as he looked behind at Haruki and tried to smile the widest he could. He hated smiling and it was not a part of his personality. He was crude, rude, egotistical, but somewhat soft on the inside. Tensei looked up and glanced at the beautiful moon with all the stars, the heat from the blade giving a cozy feeling.
"I had a good life…Maybe in the next one it could be better," thought Tensei with tears rolling down from his eyes.
As Sunny brought down the sword even further and further down about to reach Tensei and kill him, he had that slight hope that maybe he could live. That small sliver of hope turned into a ferocious wish. There has to be a way right? Tensei knew that this man will not stop no matter what happens. He had one look at the amount of over usage of Black Magic he did to understand his personality fully.
He wished and wished and this time…He started to pray. He never prayed ever since his mother and father passed away. He thought the Arch-Demon of Water and even the God of Demons hated him, but this time. He hoped that they would listen to him. Once.
"The Submerged One, The King of the Aquatic Underworld, The Son of the King of Demons, The Arch-Demon of Water himself, please lend me your hand to eviscerate this monster!" prayed Tensei with all his might.
In the millisecond between the sword meeting Tensei's head a lone silver droplet of rain fell from the sky and hit Tensei on his blue hair. He felt the wetness of the rain, rejuvenating him as his eyes flared a bright purple color, the red and blue mixing in a mesmerizing sight.
He catched Sunny's blade instantly and his hands, which would normally start to sear from the immense heat, were not even budging as the mere soul energy output of Tensei made Sunny's mask shatter onto the ground revealing Sunny's true battle-scarred face with long white hair.
Tensei smashed the blade and it crumbled into pieces and the pieces returned to its silver color from the black and molten heat leaving the blade.
This was the moment Tensei Nagashima unlocked his Berserker Core and ascended to a fifth dimension being.
