Without wasting any time, Nicole, Emily, and Natsuki went outside the hospital to look for a place where they can do their 'divination' without any interruptions or people. Natsuki thought booking a cab or taxi and going to an isolated area might be suspicious so she decided to rent two motorcycles.
"Why not three?" asked Nicole, confused at Natsuki's option.
Natsuki without saying a word opened her green, star-filled purse and grabbed her brown, leather wallet out. Then she opened the wallet to show Nicole the insides. Nicole's jaw dropped as she saw a flea fly from the wallet making it entirely empty.
"I thought Doctors are meant to be rich…" said Nicole in disbelief.
"Sadly I've spent all my time and money on making sure everyone was having a good time…Ozamu said he would pay for my work in the hospital at a later time however," explained Natsuki.
"Ozamu? As in the Mayor?" asked Nicole.
"Yes!" replied Natsuki with a slight smile on her face.
Emily, Natsuki, and Nicole all walked to the subway station where the motorcycles they booked were waiting. As they reached Nicole was surprisingly impressed with the city of Rein. The city was neat, clean, it had brick and sturdy houses, plus it was the safest city in Lukia with the four towers and walls that guard it.
When they reached the subway station, Natsuki walked towards the man with the motorcycles and he scanned a QR code that Natsuki had which indicated that the payment had been completed. While Natsuki was talking to the motorcycle man, Nicole and Emily were left alone.
Nicole leaned on one of the pillars of the subway station while eating a lollipop and put her right leg behind her, the sole of her right foot touching the wall, while Emily stood straight carrying her bag with a tight grip. Nicole was wearing a black, leather jacket with white normal clothes and black track pants with her mace in her bag, while Emily was wearing her DMMS uniform like Ozamu suggested she should do when she goes outside. Even Natsuki was wearing her uniform.
After paying for the motorcycles and leaving the subway station using the upward ramp made for bicycles, Nicole got on her motorcycle while Emily got in to drive her motorcycle while Natsuki sat behind Emily and they both adjusted to make it fit. Nicole was suppressing her laughter while this happened.
"Where's our destination?" asked Nicole as she started driving the motorcycle, the fresh breeze making her hair go wild.
She stopped and tied her hair and then started driving again getting a feel for her motorcycle. Her motorcycle was black, with a silver exhaust, and a leather padded seat. It was a decent motorcycle and Natsuki and Emily's was the same brand, color, and type.
"Outside the walls of Rein, there is this road that leads to this place with many hills and many trees, it's called Luxem Plateau Plains," said Natsuki as she set their destination on her phone.
Natsuki dictated which way to go as Emily took the lead and Nicole started to follow her.
After thirty minutes of straight driving, enjoying the looks of the city, they finally reached the wall. It was a smooth exit out of Rein and then Natsuki realised that she had not told Ozamu about where they were going. So Natsuki called Ozamu and after a quick two minute conversation she hung up the phone. As Emily was driving, Natsuki whispered into Emily's ears and Nicole could not hear anything due to the sound of the Motorcycle and she was too careless to care.
"If she decides to betray us at the last minute, the place we are going to is really good for battle so we can easily defeat her, otherwise we will stick to our deal," explained Natsuki.
Emily nodded and agreed as they managed to ride through the dirt roads and eventually reach the green, blossoming Luxem Plateau Plains.
It was obvious why it was called the Luxem Plateau Plains, with the multiple acres of yellow flowers that covered the green patches of grass with trees surrounding the area, with bumps all over the place, hills, and a major plateau at the far north of the plains. This was a major tourist destination of Lukia but with the Ninjaro Raid's ending and the President himself dead, all the citizens or tourists are scared to even step outside their houses and forget to go touring.
The trio got off their bikes and placed a mat down and sat on the mat. Then Emily closed her eyes to concentrate and opened her Playbox ability. The entire space around them was covered in a pink and purple reality warping box that Nicole could not comprehend. She was able to see some of the box's outline but she was not able to see the full box.
Then Emily grunted as she expanded the box's area and perimeter to the entirety of Lukia. It was taxing physically and soul energy wise but she knew it would be worth it. Then she took the box and placed it in the Snow Kingdom.
Sparks started to dance around her as the Aurora was not allowing Emily's outside interference of soul energy to reach inside the Snow Kingdom. Yet, she tried and in the end it failed. Then, Emily got another idea, since she tried the Snow Kingdom this time she would try the Frozen Everglades and also she would make sure the sparks would appear in the sky making it a signal Danso cannot ignore. Along with the shape of the Playbox which Danso was already familiar with she knew this was her best bet.
So she clenched her fists and got her mind ready as she did this impossible task.
In the Frozen Everglades.
Danso was resting after doing his Essence training and as he walked back to the Veiled Village, he saw the sparks of Aurora in the sky clashing with what seemed like a pink box. Danso squinted and observed it closer and saw Emily, Nicole, and Natsuki in the Laxeum Plateau Plains and then he instantly knew what that meant. He sprinted to the Veiled Village and slammed on Yvette's door. Everlin opened the door and asked him what was wrong.
"Do you have a phone?" asked Danso.
Everlin nodded no and Yvette came out of the restroom wondering what was going on.
"Why do you need a phone now?" asked Yvette, puzzled.
The sparks slowly subsided as Emily started panting and she wiped the droplets of sweat that formed on her head with a napkin. Nicole and Natsuki waited a minute to make sure she could rest before bombarding Emily with questions.
"Did it work?" asked Nicole.
"I hope it did," replied Natsuki looking up at the sky and then the yellow flowers, just admiring the place.
"I got no sign of anything…The Aurora did not let my Playbox be in a 100 meter radius of it after it dissipated due to it being inside for a minute, all we can do now is hope Danso saw it," said Emily.
Danso panicked as he asked again, not answering Yvette's question. Is Emily here? For a moment a moment of happiness flashed in his brain. Or is it a signal? She can move her Playbox wherever she wants. These were some of Danso's thoughts as he panicked more and more stressing on finding a phone.
"The Frozen Everglades is heavily un-advanced compared to the outside world since we don't usually invite outsiders or go outside ourselves, The Snow Kingdom on the other hand is more advanced than us but less compared to the rest of the countries in Laxasis," explained Everlin.
"Then where can I find a phone? Or…" said Danso looking at Yvette pausing for a minute.
"What do you want me to do? I don't even know what a 'Phone' is," replied Yvette.
Danso knew that sending messages using Karkous or Zephyr would be impractical since they would still take a lot of time to reach Lukia, it would take them at least an hour or at best thirty minutes which is not the fastest. It would also be impossible since they are Soul Slimes which are soul beasts with soul energy, so they cannot leave the Aurora. Humans can leave the Aurora however using a special spell that disables the Aurora's effect for three seconds but makes the user pass out for two months.
"Is there any way I can get a message out to Lukia?" asked Danso.
The question lingered in the air for a long time before Yvette's face started to glow with excitement.
"It is something I did not use for a very long time," said Yvette.
Danso was wondering what it was and even Everlin looked a bit puzzled. The suspense was in the air for a long time until Yvette brought out the keys to a secret room underneath her house.
"Does this exist?" asked Danso.
"It is somewhere where I have only been once…But I did not see a phone in here," said Everlin.
Yvette removed the cover of a mirror and showed the mirror after cleaning it with a blue cloth. Then she tapped the mirror three times and chanted something in Ancient Glassacian. The mirror shone in a bright white light and then the glass started to swirl and whirl as it made Danso dizzy.
"Tell the mirror the exact location and names of the people," said Yvette standing next to the mirror.
"Why do you have this?" asked Everlin.
"It was to talk to your father after we were separated. It was in my diary when I lost my memory," explained Yvette.
Danso's eyes widened. The Yvette he was talking to might really be Xeno's wife. Xeno thought she was dead but in reality she ended up in the Frozen Everglades! It was a good narrative.
And then he stared at Everlin. If Xeno was the father, Everlin was the son of Xeno.
Danso was completely honest and he could not find a single resemblance between him and Xeno. He chuckled in the thought that Yvette might have cheated on him but in reality he knew he could say anything since he never saw Xeno's real avatar. In the notebook that he dropped it stated 'The ring means my real avatar' and more details he slowly started to forget.
Danso walked closer to the mirror and told all the details of the three. After chanting it three times like Yvette mentioned him to do earlier the mirror glowed in a white color yet again.
Nicole, Emily, and Natsuki waited for a sign. It could have been anything really as long as it could mean that Danso was alive. They three were really worried for him.
Then a white mirror sized picture appeared and on the opposite end of the mirror were three people. One person was taller than Danso, more muscular than Danso, had white hair, pale skin, and blue eyes. Then there was Danso, then there was an old grandma with wrinkles and pale white hair.
Emily's relief was higher than the tallest building in the world right now! She felt as if a mountain's worth of pebbles and rocks were out of her shoulder as Natsuki jumped up and screamed 'Yes!' as Nicole smirked and grinned.
"Still as ugly as ever," remarked Nicole. Natsuki shoved Nicole aside.
"How have you been?" asked Natsuki.
"I have been fine," replied Danso with a foreign smile.
