Leonard Richardson Litt died a few days after the surprise party. According to the reports, he suffered from a heart attack, and before he was taken to the hospital his shallow breathing had stopped completely, and there was nothing anyone could do to bring him back.
His two sons were informed of their father's demise, and they made their way to his mansion after a very long time. They had coincidentally arrived at the same time, and ignored each other, recalling the grudge that existed between them, and unwilling to bury the hatchet. Neither of them was willing to extend the hand of reconciliation first.
Their mother, now a shadow of herself, was seated sorrowfully in the large sitting room and they did all they could to console her.
