"I want to resume work at the office." Nicole said, and I couldn't hide my surprise. For a moment I wondered where this was coming from, and concluded that it must be due to the stress involved in handling the triplets. I was getting dressed for work, and she had woken up only a couple of minutes ago, and had simply stared at me the whole time. I had wondered why she was staring until she stated what was on her mind.
But why? I wanted to ask but what came out of my mouth was "Are you sure about this?"
She nodded slowly but with resolve, and I wondered just for how long she had thought about resuming work.
What about the children? What about Louis? What about me? Will I be able to focus on anything, knowing that she was in the same building and floor as me?
