The ride from the mansion to the supermarket was longer than I expected. All three drivers, as if they had been instructed before now to drive really slowly, drove with an annoying slowness that Laurel could not keep quiet about it.
"Mom, are the cars faulty?" She asked one time.
"Of course not!" I replied. We wouldn't ride in a faulty car but she was too young to know that. After a little while, I turned off the partition, so that I could communicate with the men at the front seat of the car.
"Can you drive faster?" I asked.
"Mr Litt instructed that we drive slowly because of the kids." Rowan replied. He was on the passenger's seat while Maro was behind the wheels.
I should have known Leonard was behind this, why else would they all be driving so solemnly as if we were attending the funeral of a loved one. It sucks!
"Are the cars bad?" Laurel asked again after I turned on the partition.
