"What is going on?" I asked, facing the lady who had ushered us in when we came.
"There was a shoot-out outside. Although it has ended now we still don't know what the situation is." She explained with her eyes widened in fear. They were all sprawled on the floor even though there was no sound of gunshot from outside.
My heart went to the men outside, about five of them, and I suddenly wished that they were safe. All of them.
"There was an attempt to kidnap one of the customers but it failed, and led to a shoot out instead." The lady explained further, and I became more afraid as I recalled the content of the message which we had received from the building at Twin-avenue.
Was this an attempt to kidnap me and the kids and make Leonard choose? Or do they have a different target altogether? Is this a coincidence or am I just lucky?
