I left the mansion for the office after handpicking the men who would go with Nicole to the supermarket. Of course I had told them to drive really slowly, and had repeated it more than once. Most importantly, I told them to inform me the moment anything unusual happened.
The kids were starting school, and they had to get everything they would need. Nicole had suggested taking the kids with her, and I found the idea a bright one. For months now, following the message we received from supposed Luca, Nicole had remained indoors, and hardly went out, and when she did, she went alone, heavily guarded, and only to Cathy's place. But today was different, she was going with the kids, and not to Cathy's place.
It had worried me that she would never get over the fear which the message had instilled in her, and now I am pleased that I was worried over nothing.
