"Claire."
She had just come downstairs and was about to call for a cab when a sleek Bentley pulled up by the curb.
Her eyes widened in surprise. It was Alvin.
"Claire, let me take you home," Alvin said as he stepped out of the car, tall and elegant, his gaze fixed intently on her.
Snapping out of her daze, Claire immediately shook her head with a polite smile. "No, thank you. I need to pick up two kids from kindergarten."
"Two kids?" Alvin's eyes darkened slightly. "You have two children?"
"Yes, a son and a daughter. They're five years old," Claire answered directly.
Alvin was silent for a moment, then smiled. "Perfect. I'll go with you to pick them up."
"No, the kids are sensitive around strangers. But thank you for the perfume ingredients today. I'll treat you to a meal sometime," Claire said with a smile as she waved down a taxi.
"Claire, where's your husband?" Alvin suddenly reached out and grabbed her wrist, pressing her for an answer.
