When Gilbert stepped into the living room, he saw little Adam enthusiastically acting something out for Celeste. One moment, the boy waved his chubby hands, the next he kicked his legs, completely caught up in his storytelling.
Celeste sat listening intently, dabbing her eyes with tissues. The wastebasket beside her was already full.
Gilbert had no idea his son was busy telling on him to his great-grandmother.
"Adam, what are you talking about?" he asked with a warm smile as he walked closer.
The moment Adam saw him, he shrank back a little and burrowed into Celeste's arms for protection.
Celeste shot Gilbert a sharp look and wrapped her arms around the boy. "Go on, Adam. Say it all. Let your daddy hear every word."
Feeling emboldened, Adam nodded and continued seriously.
