"Then where did she go?"
"Th-this… Young Master, I truly don't know. Perhaps you should call her yourself."
A cold smile tugged at Gilbert's lips.
With Zanna still here, she couldn't have gone far.
He headed upstairs.
In the playroom, Adam and Dean were happily absorbed in their games.
Gilbert stepped inside.
"Adam, Dean."
"Daddy!"
"Your mommy left with Hilary. Did you know that?"
"Oh, yes." Adam nodded. "Mommy took Hilary home. I'll stay here with Great-Grandma for a while. She's sick."
Gilbert's eyes darkened. He bent down. "Adam, are you willing to stay here?"
"Yes, I want to keep Great-Grandma company for a while," Adam answered truthfully.
Gilbert narrowed his gaze slightly, ruffling Adam's hair. Dean, meanwhile, stayed focused on his own game, his little face cool and distant.
Gilbert slowly walked into the study and sat down.
