Chapter 10 - Killing Wolf Emperors

The howling wind wolf's claws were sharper than Yanga expected, managing to slice through Yanga's protective clothing.

According to the description, the clothing could withstand anything below the Spirit Gathering stage and endure a few attacks from those at the Spirit Gathering stage.

With his protective clothing damaged, Yanga knew he had to be more cautious. He planned to fight more carefully from now on, but the wolves gave him no chance, relentlessly closing in.

As the fight dragged on, neither side could gain the upper hand, and they reached an odd stalemate.

From a distance, it might have looked like a strange game of tag, with all three wolves chasing Yanga, while he dodged and struck back at each one trying to land a hit.

Blow after blow, they clashed, trading hundreds, thousands of blows. The fight dragged on this was easily the toughest Yanga had ever faced. He began to notice something.

Back on Earth he had been a huge fan of music and dancing, spending nearly every moment with something playing in his ears, especially while working. It always got him hyped, and it helped him calm his mind and focus.

Now,, in the middle of this battle,, something about it reminded him of music.

But here, it wasn't just music it was something deeper more primal. The battle had a flow to it, flowing from low to high to somewhere in between. Yanga was starting to read that flow with every exchange. Blocking became easier, and his strikes began landing more often than they missed.

With Yanga's recent improvement, the battle grew even more intense, as Yanga seized the advantage and gained the upper hand. Their moves began to flow together instinctively, boosting their cooperation.

As their teamwork increased, the battle threatened to slip back into a stalemate, but Yanga refused to let that happen. This time he charged at the Howling Wind Wolf unleashing all the strength it could muster.

Boom, Yanga was sent flying a few meters while the Howling Wind Wolf was sent flying nearly 20 meters. The move stunned the other two wolves, buying Yanga just enough time to center himself.

First Step, Second Step, Third Step. Yanga appeared right in front of the Howling Wind Wolf, catching it completely off guard. He wasn't just in front of it; he was perfectly positioned to launch a surprise attack the wolf had no way of stopping.

Yanga had finally achieved minor completion in the Void Skiping Techniques, Step 1 one Meter, allowing him to use space folding more effectively than ever.

Space Folding is a fascinating technique involving the space doa. When used, a single step can make it seem as though the user has teleported, covering far more distance than a normal stride would.

This is done by folding the space between steps; while it seems they teleported, it is simply covering a greater distance than one step can cover.

Now that Yanga has finally reached minor completion in the first form of the Void Skipping technique, a single stride of his can now cover about 10–12 meters. This means the three simple steps Yanga took toward the Howling Wind Wolf spanned nearly 35 meters.

Covering 35 meters in just three steps during a battle as fierce as this is a massive advantage, a true trump card in any fight. Yanga didn't waste the chance. With his sword already in position, he unleashed the full force he could master.

The first form of the Desolate Sword Technique shone once more, its brilliance even greater this time. An image of a drop of water falling on desolate land appeared, and when the drop finally struck the neck of the Howling Wind Wolf, the emperor fell.

The fall of the Howling Wind Wolf Emperor was like dousing the remaining two wolf emperors with cold water.

In that moment, as Yanga caught his breath after expending so much power to bring down the Howling Wind Wolf Emperor, the other wolves turned to flee. The first to bolt was the Inferno Wolf Emperor.

The Stone Wolf Emperor, still recovering after being sent flying by Yanga, was slower to retreat, but Yanga had no intention of letting either escape. After all that fighting, letting them go was out of the question, so he sprang into action.

His first target was the Inferno Wolf Emperor. Though the Stone Wolf Emperor might take longer to kill, Yanga knew his priority lay with the fleeing foe.

The Inferno Wolf Emperor had barely covered 200 meters before Yanga was upon him. The beast tried to turn and strike, but Yanga anticipated the move. With a swift step, he folded space and appeared in a new position.

In a flash, he unleashed the drop falls on desert of the desolute sword technique, cleanly taking the head of the Inferno Wolf Emperor.

Yanga didn't pause for a second, knowing it would only give the Stone Wolf Emperor more time to escape. He charged at full speed.

Though slower than the Infernal Wolf Emperor, the Stone Wolf Emperor had run in a different direction, and by the time Yanga caught up, it had already covered over a kilometer.

Again, Yanga dropped in next to the wolf then raised his sword, aiming for its neck. But this time, a sharp bang rang out. Sparks flew the legendary defense of the Stone Wolf Emperor had shown.

The same strike that killed both the Infernal Wolf Emperor and the Howling Wind Wolf Emperor had no effect. It rattled Yanga slightly, though he'd expected this this was why he saved it for last knowing it would be a challenge.

Now, with no time pressure, he struck again, but the result was the same only sparks, and the Stone Wolf Emperor kept running, undisturbed.

Yanga wasn't about to let this wolf disrespect him like that. After two full-power strikes, it was still standing, which only made him angrier. He did what anyone from the streets would do and that is to fight dirty.

This time, instead of going for its neck, he targeted a leg. Faking another neck strike, he switched direction at the last second and cut into one of its front legs. BAM!

The leg's defenses were tough, but not as tough as the neck. One hit shattered it, sending the wolf crashing down. It rolled hard, smashing into trees and breaking several before coming to a stop.

By then, Yanga was already there, sword raised. An image of a drop falling into a desolate land appeared he landed a brutal strike to the Stone Wolf Emperor's private parts.

Bang! The wolf howled like it was dying, but Yanga didn't care. Without slowing, he drove his sword straight into its mouth, finally killing it.

After all the fighting Yanga was exhausted, but this wasn't the time to rest. A battle this large, with so much blood, was sure to attract other predators.

He needed to gather his spoils quickly before something else claimed them. The problem was, his space ring didn't have enough room to hold everything.

As he debated what to take and what to leave, he remembered he had more than just the space ring there was also the Seedling World. With a thought, Yanga sent his consciousness into the Seedling World, and what he saw shocked him.

The changes there were massive, but they'd have to wait. He immediately stored the corpse of the Stone Wolf Emperor and hurried to a battle location..

Working swiftly, Yanga managed to store all the battlefield corpses there, a smile spreading across his face. The recent transformation of the Seedling World had been a true lifesaver. With all these spoils, he could earn a fortune back in Mhlanga Village.

Just then, a speedboat appeared beside him. Yanga climbed aboard and sped toward the wall of the Infinite Basin as fast as possible.

Generally, using a speedboat in the Infinite Basin wasn't recommended, as one had to move cautiously, staying alert for wildbeasts that could appear from any direction at any moment.

But Yanga put those warnings aside he was exhausted. Fortunately for him, the speedboat didn't require the spirit Qi to run it was powered by a spirit stone. All he had to do was focus on the route, manage the speed, and dodge any trees in his path.

Determined, he sped toward the wall. Along the way, he encountered several wildbeasts, but none were strong enough to pose a real threat, and at his speed, he quickly left them behind.

Soon, he reached the wall and began climbing. Thanks to the careful maintenance by the surrounding villagers, getting in and out of the Infinite Basin wasn't too hard, despite its towering 10-kilometer-high shore.

A few hours later, Yanga spotted the gates of Mhlanga Village. Without wasting a second, he made his way to old man Hancock's villa and collapsed straight into bed, completely worn out.
