Meanwhile, Zenitsu, returning to Rengoku Manor with Kyōjurō Rengoku, complained after parting ways with Ryuji, "Isn't it better to live with the pretty girls at the Butterfly Mansion? Why do we have to move in with the Flame Hashira? Aren't we disturbing him?"

"Zenitsu, you should be honored to receive my guidance! Only by becoming as strong as me can you attract girls!" Rengoku boasted self-importantly, despite being single himself.

Zenitsu asked, "Rengoku-san, are you married? Is your wife pretty? Will we be disturbing you and your wife if we move in?"

Rengoku became embarrassed. Saying he wasn't married would be admitting defeat.

However, Rengoku wasn't one to lie, so he told Zenitsu the truth. "Not yet. Being a demon slayer is incredibly dangerous. I don't want to cause a woman heartache, so I don't pursue romance."

Zenitsu looked at Rengoku with disdain. Just say you're single! Why make it sound so noble?

No wonder Tanjiro became Rengoku's apprentice; they're birds of a feather! Add Inosuke, the emotionally inept one, and they're the perfect trio! Zenitsu thought he had a better chance with women if he stayed with Ryuji.

But upon reflection, Zenitsu realized Rengoku had a point, though he lacked Rengoku's self-awareness.

"Rengoku-san, don't you need to have children?" Zenitsu pressed further.

"Good question. I have a younger brother, so that task falls to him," Rengoku replied.

This left Zenitsu speechless. Didn't Rengoku know the joys of being a man?

Zenitsu didn't ask further. They arrived at Rengoku Manor.

Standing before Rengoku Manor, Zenitsu examined the small estate. Compared to the Butterfly Mansion, it was far inferior. Even the village headman's house was larger.

"Rengoku-san, is this where you live? It's so shabby!" Zenitsu couldn't help but complain. They were both Hashira; why such a difference in living quarters?

Rengoku nodded. "Yes. While it can't compare to the Butterfly Mansion, it's much quieter! Since I live alone, it's not large, but it's certainly big enough for the three of you."

Tanjiro didn't find it shabby but rather refined, just smaller than the Butterfly Mansion.

After entering, Zenitsu discovered that Rengoku's residence, though small, was quite refined: a courtyard, a flower pond, walls, a cobblestone path, various flowers and plants—all exquisitely arranged.

Most importantly, there was a private bathhouse and kitchen. In short, it was small but complete.
