Chapter 144 - The Last Thing I Wanted Was To Hurt You

Thinking that he had said that his grandpa was fine, Christopher frowned. Now he was here, and thus his acts belied his words.

Therefore he said, "Don't tell her I'm here. Also, don't let her know about grandpa's current situation."

Then he hurriedly hid behind the door.

Nanny Daisy nodded, and then opened the door.

"Ms. Gladwell."

Janice nodded when she saw Nanny Daisy.

"How is grandpa? Can I go in and see him?" asked Janice.

Nanny Daisy said, "He just fell asleep. Now's not the best time."

"I won't disturb him. I just want to take a look," said Janice.

Nanny Daisy awkwardly answered, "Ms. Gladwell, you'd better not. Please don't make things difficult for me."

Janice sank deeper into depression when she heard this.

She knew that he didn't want to see her, so she pursed her lips and said, "OK, I'll come back tomorrow."

Then she slowly left.

After she left, Christopher came out from behind the door. He stared at her lonely figure with a deep frown.
