I avoided Scarlett's calls all through. Then I sent a text to inform her that I was fine. I didn't know how to explain that I was staying with Levi after being in danger. She was going to flip, and she had a right to. But I needed to breathe. It felt like I was being watched all through. I felt someone was waiting patiently at the corner, counting my steps as I breathe and sleep. I hear him walk in at night, adjusting my blanket.
