[POV: Ruvan]
Solenne was fast asleep in Ruvan's arms, exhausted to the point she could no longer move. Her heat had only just started to subside after four days of relentless mating, and his knot had finally relaxed an hour ago, but he still found himself reluctant to pull out.
As Ruvan looked down at the woman he held, foreign feelings stirred in his chest. The entire time he was taking her, the voices in his head were almost entirely silent. Something about her… was familiar and soothing. Her presence was like a balm on his aching mind.
His golden gaze roved over her naked form, taking in the sight of her porcelain skin that was now littered with bruises and bitemarks of his making. A low, approving growl rumbled in his chest as he admired his masterpiece.
This woman was his. It was an irrefutable fact.
"Is this what being fated feels like?" he wondered.
