[POV: Solenne]
Solenne found herself alone when she awoke, the space where Ruvan had been already cold. His absence left her empty, but she tried not to dwell on it.
After all, it was the first day that she felt truly clear-headed in a little over a week, her heat finally quelled. Unfortunately, with a clear mind came sorrowful thoughts.
'He doesn't remember me, either,' Solenne thought sadly, but her heart lifted a little when she remembered his words the night before. 'He'll bring me the stars…'
Careful what you wish for. He's crazy enough that he might try it, Serai chuckled.
Solenne was startled slightly by her wolf's voice. They had been separated so long that she wasn't used to having her company anymore.
'You scared me!' Solenne lamented.
Get used to it, Serai teased. Then, she added with an affectionate tone, We're finally reunited.
